The UK Home Care Association calculated the minimum price councils should be paying was £16.70 per hour, but the average was over £2 less.Councils said they had been left with little choice given the squeeze on their finances by the government. But the UKHCA said the situation was threatening the future of the market. It warned agencies were struggling to recruit staff and maintain quality, noting growing numbers of organisations were handing back contracts to councils. It comes after the Care Quality Commission said earlier in the month the sector was at "tipping point" with cuts leading to more pressure on hospitals and deteriorating performance.[/QUOTE] Why people can support the tories while this shit is allowed is beyond me. I have a close relative who works in the home care industry and it is getting really stupid with the amount of pressure on people to cover as much as they can. Add on top of this the fact that people who rely on welfare and can't work (because of disability or other reasons) and I don't see why people would gladly take this in exchange for pandering to "MUH IMMIGRATION" bs sentiment.
the great part is for every 10$ they shave from poor people, probably 8$ goes to private contractors that run the barber shops
This is the Tory way. Defund public services and then claim they aren't working and that the private sector can do better. They're doing it to the NHS as well
I wish good luck to you,Britain.
Just wait for #brexit to kick in and everything will be fine guys honest!
