Authorities with the National Park Service say it was 2009 when the Lake Superior ice was thick enough to allow the public to walk to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore sea caves. The images of water, frozen into ice formations hanging in the caves, are dramatic. Neil Howk, assistant chief of interpretive services at the Apostle Islands park, said the caves normally are only accessible to kayaks and small boats during the summer months. That first image is why I love HDR photography
Looks like something out of Skyrim.
Such amazing photos destroyed by really low resolution, fucking.. Would make an awesome background.
that hdr looks so, so shit in the first picture
that hdr looks so, so shit in the first picture
Looks like some terrible CGI render from the 90s adventure games.
That first image is why I hate HDR photography
I'd feel really fucking awkward near that many icicles.
First image looks more like it came from a really detailed cartoon than real life.
First image looks more like it came from a really detailed cartoon than real life.
I thought it was a beautiful painting of what they saw in 2009
Looks like something out of Skyrim.
Skyrim is nothing compared to the glory that is Lake Superior.
that hdr looks so, so shit in the first picture
HDR photography is so fucking gimmicky
imagine walking in and exploring one, then an earthquake hits
I've gotta head up north to visit my family, hopefully I'll get up there soon so I can visit these caves.
I love the great lakes region.
I live near this area. If I go and get any pictures, I'll let you guys know and post them here. :v:
I didn't know my state had anything worth admiring.
people should use hdr as a correction to the exposure limitations of traditional imaging, making a more perceptually accurate image rather than something pushed to extremes.
Pure Michigan
Michigan really is the most beautiful midwest states there is.
