Modern society cannot progress without eventually throwing off the metaphorical chains that religion has burdened us with.
I think the Rabbi was quite fair during the interview. I grew up Christian, whent to Christian schools and ended up never really believing any of it. People can make their own decisions about what to believe. I don't think religion is about believing, it's about faith.
In that video, that isn't faith. That's pure brainwashing.
Yeah, I think it's ok for people to have faith in God or whatever they choose to, but to stick to it so hard and not be open minded to other people is just hindering society's progress. The kids are just following blindly what the other say. But it's the 21st century, it's hard to believe these kids don't wonder how the world outside works against what they always heard.
Whats the documentary with richard dawkins in it?
organized religion = bad spirituality = good that's all there is to this argument really.
organized religion = bad spirituality = good that's all there is to this argument really.
What's good about spirituality?
spirituality = good
lol k
In that video, that isn't faith. That's pure brainwashing.
I agree.
The thing about scientists finding moon rocks to be 6,000-10,000 years old... It's amazing to me that people can keep believing these things once they start teaching children outright lies.
That thumbnail. Dawkins just looks so prepared to destroy that other guy.
Rated dumb because religious people like this are fucking retarded.
Anybody got a link that works for us tea connoisseurs?
In that video, that isn't faith. That's pure brainwashing.
Because these are uncommon isolated cases yes?
Because these are uncommon isolated cases yes?
It shouldn't be happening at all. This is just like the "Gay Camps" that people set up to try and brainwash kids straight. Whether it happens one time or millions, it shouldn't be happening at all. California is the first and only state to outlaw the practice, and whether or not a small percentage of people engage in these schools doesn't defend them being allowed to exist. A kid should not be forced to attend a school that doesn't teach a mandated curriculum. Under these laws, I could send my kid to a school that teaches us that humans are robots and the sky is actually purple and the only reason it's blue is because of pixie dust. That would be perfectly legal, and it's wrong because the child doesn't have an opportunity to decide what they want to believe because lies are being shoved down their throat.
