An alpha (or possibly closed beta) tester just leaked two hours of Star Wars: The Old Republic gameplay! This is awesome, enjoy and discuss: http://www.justin.tv/archive/archive_popout?id=285832120
If you're having problems getting it to, just as I am having, try refreshing it a bunch of times, some people on the PMS Clan forums said that it to work for them: http://www.pmsclan.com/forum/showthread.php?t=68909
Doesn't load for me. :saddowns:

From what I've heard, you have to refresh it a bunch of times, or so people here said:

Finally got it running. Was about to give up :v:
Another WoW clone...
Stand in one place, collect things... Kill stuff... Level up...
Conversation is like Mass Effect/Dragon Age... meh..
I hope Guild Wars 2 doesn't disappoint.
Doesn't load for me :O Probably overloaded !

I still haven't got it to work, what did you do?

Basically what you said, keep refreshing. I also tried CTRL+SHIFT+R a few times.

FYI. WOW DID NOT INVENT MMORPG'S FFS
Seriously, "Oh, it's an mmorpg, ITS A WOW CLONE". No it's not.
I think they should take away the name above the heads. Since they already got it near the player's portrait, above the head seems a bit distracting.
Looks really disappointing to me, though I wasn't surprised.

Generally most games let you disable/enable that.

Is there supposed to be sound? :frown:
First 9 or so minutes in there is no sound, after that there is for the rest of the video.
Also it bothers me how the firefight between the NPC's did no damage to each other. ((in the last playthrough)). I know that it would make it too easy, but it would make the overall feel better if they did even the smallest bit of damage to eachother. Makes the NPCs actually feel useful.

It certainly did not invent MMORPGS. But it set a stupid standard that every company feels they need to copy. Except with a different setting.

It is pretty ignorant of you to call it a wow clone, and if you don't have much knowledge of something, don't post. Any mmorpg is going to 'look' like wow, because it was shiny and everyone played it at some point. WoW was a milestone in mmo gaming because it approached players with a story line they were familiar with, rather than "welcome to a really cool sci-fi / fantasy world where you can do whatever you want!" (everquest, which in my opinion was not a fun mmorpg).
Here is a quote from TOR staff/webiste:
Star Wars: The Old Republic will be similar to other MMOs but with several key innovations. Traditionally MMOs are built on three pillars; Exploration, Combat, and Progression. We at BioWare and LucasArts believe there is a fourth pillar: Story. Our mission is to create the best story-driven games in the world. We believe that the compelling, interactive storylines in Star Wars: The Old Republic are a significant innovation to MMOs and will offer an entertainment experience unlike any other.
SW:TOR is getting hyped because it is a storyline and setting we are all familiar with / enjoy learning more about. It will be hard to 'graphically' outdo a game that has lasted more than four years with hundreds of updates spanning from game play mechanics to how a torch looks on a wall. WoW kept up with its players, and that's why it is so popular. Hopefully TOR can burst out and not get viewed as a 'wow clone' by the ignorant parade you seem to be leading.

The elements that WoW has have proven to be very successful, and many MMOs will try to build upon the factors that make it as great as it is. Every MMO is going to be similar in ways, but they aren't trying to be WoW.
Doesn't really look that good...
I'm quite disappointed to be honest... :saddowns:
So generic.
Well this looks horrible. Cyborg and Chiss as races? Generic MMORPG gameplay?
It makes it look better than anything they have officially released so far.

Well it certainly looks like it.
This actually looks really fun.

"Except with a different setting"
Pretty sure you do not have a speech system in WoW, can fly space ships in WoW, have lightsaber battles in WoW, can build a empire that can effect all the servers of the game..
Yeah.. WoW clone :colbert:
leakerz.net
Has everything in the beta from skill trees to every class to playable races.

Umm lightsaber = sword. That's a change in setting
And when space aspect of the game isn't free roam (it's on rails) I think most people would just rather not have it. Oh and when you can't pick whatever ship you want. To each his own though.
And I'm pretty sure ToR doesn't have "empires that can effect all the servers of the game"
Looks horrible in my opinion but this is still early gameplay. I still have hope for this game.
I want to play this badly.........i won't have any reviews sway my opinion of this till its in my bloody hands and im playing it......all of my future MMO hope's pretty much rest with this and GWII
"i want to be close to you"

Nope, majority decides the decision. All you get is dark side points. Also decisions won't have major impact since this is a MMORPG.
