So recently, the Malaysian government blocked of hundreds(maybe thousands) of websites to be 'Safe' and for 'Censorship'. Some of the sites blocked being Megaupload and Wiki Leaks. Many people feel like their freedom is being taken away.
So what is Operation Malaysia?
Operation Malaysia Is A Virtual Attack On The Government
Many people were fucking pissed by this, so some so called 'Hackers' is planning to hack the Malaysian government website to send a message of protest. Apparently, these 'Hackers' also posted a warning video on youtube using Text-To-Speech and Inception Soundtrack.

These hackers already made their first move by attacking
www.cidb.gov.my. The site is now down.
Many people are waiting for the second attack which is said to be on 4:30 am(Gmt+8) tomorrow.
So far, many people are supporting Operation Malaysia because they don't know how to use a proxy. :v:
So, What did the government do after hearing this threat?
We so far. The MCMC or The Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission. Aka. "THE MALAYSIAN CYBERPOLICE" (seriously, they call themselves that). Said that they are ready to defend any attacks and will take immediate action.
What does the OP think the Malaysian government will do?
Honestly, being a Malaysian and all. There are 3 things they might do.
a)There is 5% Chance they will start hunting down the violators, and make using a proxy a punishable offense.
b)There is 35% chance that they wont do anything. Ignoring everybody.
c) There is 60% chance that the Malaysian government will be a pussy, unblock some of the websites and giving reasons that it was a mistake and shit. LIKE THEY ALWAYS DO.
But why did the OP call his government a pussy?
Its because the government is full of Corrupt bloodsucking politics that only knows about money and not the people.
So OP, Do you support Operation Malaysia?
Its 60/40 for me, Because yes. I want my freedom of wikileaks and downloading minecraft mods through MegaUpload(I trust megaupload the most). But then many Malaysians pirate games as we all know it. I think should also be a think to make Malaysians BUY ORIGINAL GAMES
Well, what do you guys think? Do you want to support Operating Malaysia and get Malaysia's freedom back or do you think they should continue blocking?
Pretty sure human rights are more important than people pirating a few games.
I wonder why they didn't block facepunch.
Corrupt as fuck goverment

I honestly don't get how a government website getting hacked really makes a difference, and why the whole government would even care.
this thread will end up bad

I wanna see how this turns out
Ohohohoho what?
How about making it easier for me to get original games before doing shit like this
Well. Their target. http://malaysia.gov.my

I was unaware use of the internet is a human right.
While I agree it shouldn't be censored saying it's a human right is: :frog:
Oh no the government depended on their website to do all of their politics and things and if they can't post news and and information on their official site they'll surely be brought to their knees.
Sounds interesting. But videos where people use computer voices to "hide their true identity" are so idiotic. What do they expect the government to do? Somehow have a copy of their voice and hunt them down with just that?
IMMA FIRIN MALAySIA ... on their website
You have my support :clint:

I agree with this, I think hackers like these are more like freedom fighters than law breakers.
Either that or they don't have a mic.
Fuck yeah, wars going into the internet.
Fight the power!

Pretty sure that free speech is a human right.
Let's hope the Malaysian government soon realizes that this is a bad thing, and that other countries don't follow suit. :ohdear:
Well, the government said they did not infringe any human rights.
But here's a catch, years ago, when the MCM Commission was commissioned, they promised that they are not going to block or filter any websites.
Government lied. Fuck them.
But I'm living on the same location as you OP,why isn't MEGAUPLOAD banned over here?
EDIT:
Well only the main site is blocked, the download links ain't.
Download links are not filtered. But the website itself is.
I think they hired some crappy school IT guy to do this.
Cause last night, the government itself took their own site down thinking the hackers wont attack it.
+1 for goverments.
Almost 40 guests reading.
Help us spread this!
