ASmellyOgre's Pan-USA Extravaganza (I'm on a road trip)

For the entire month of July I will be on a road trip. I'm going from South Carolina to Washington, down the Pacific coast, and then back over to South Carolina. This goes from the July 1st to the very end of the month. Internet access will be sporadic, so there will not be an update every day, but I'll try to keep it as up-to-date as possible.

Not much here. All of the packing was finished and we said goodbye to the dog and cat. Everything was already in order for the house-sitters (my mom's friends). We set out for our first goal, Nashville. South Carolina is really just a flat swamp until you get to the northwestern corner. Then you arrive at the southern edge of the Appalachian mountains called the Blue Ridge mountains. I didn't have my camera at the time, but this is them (Yes, they really look like that at a distance).

Then I got out my camera at a rest stop. The batteries ran out very quickly, though. I only got a few shots of forest from a rest stop and the car.

We drove through those for a good long time and pretty much nothing else. My family and I ate dinner at a Ruby Tuesdays and went to sleep. This one isn't too exciting, but I have some spectacular images of places such as Mammoth Caves, The Badlands, Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse already.
