Victims services officials informed a crowd attending a candlelight vigil for Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette.
At least they found anything at all. [editline]15th September 2015[/editline] And a homicide-kidnapping? Yeesh.
A 2 year old girl? Just fucking why?
Aw man :( I was hoping for a good outcome.
Well that's terrible, I hope they catch whoever did this.
Fuck man, and I was looking for white vans on the bus today just in case. :( RIP

[editline]16th September 2015[/editline]
Her father, Terry Blanchette, 27, was found dead in the home and police believe his death was a homicide.
what the hell, im confused. kid gets abducted, they find the father dead at home, and then they find the child dead too? the article doesnt say when or how the father died
what the hell, im confused. kid gets abducted, they find the father dead at home, and then they find the child dead too? the article doesnt say when or how the father died
My impression from reading about it was that the crime scene was particularly brutal. Edit: Charges have been laid.
Derek James Saretzky, 22, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of indignity to a body in connection with the deaths of Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette, 2, and her father, Terry Blanchette, 27, RCMP announced Wednesday. ... The indignity to a body charge against Saretzky relates to the child, but further details are not known
:speechless:
I hope the officer that found the body is ok. I've been near the death of a toddler before (part of twenty guys trying to lift a van off of them) and I didn't even see the kid, but it still messed with me for a couple days. I can't imagine what they're going through right now.
I read that an overwhelming majority of children who are kidnapped (not "kidnapped" as in custody battle, but by some psycho stranger) are dead with in 24 hours

As horrible as this whole thing is im at least glad the girl body was found AND a suspect in custody, thats really as good as an outcome you can really hope for. Since they found the father dead before the girl this really was the only good outcome sadly.
Charges have been laid.
one count of indignity to a body
:speechless:
if that means what i think it means just :scream:
if that means what i think it means just :scream:
It isn't.
flinging a corpse into a wooded area like an old jizz rag
that is not a good comparison in this situation at all
that is not a good comparison in this situation at all
I realize how that sounds now. I wasn't referring to the deceased, I meant that in Canadian law, "indignity" is "disrespectful treatment of a human body." Such as simply tossing a body into a field or equivalent. I wasn't referring to the victims.
