Let's not forget the awful animations. All they did was scale human animations down to fit. One time I "shook" someone's hand except my hand was about six inches below theirs.

Considering his background, I'm pretty surprised he'd give a reason as silly as that. It's not like the fans are asking him to include their outlandish fetishes, they're still asking for a romance between two humanoids (albeit small ones).
