I have been rather unfortunate as I was born halfway through that decade and could not remember the rest.
Apparently it was a awesome decade, but I am unsure about it.
For those who could remember the 90's what were they like exactly? Was it good at all or actually just normal compared to others?
I myself only recall watching cartoons that were actually funny and finding computers to be large, noisy machines that were ugly.
So now I ask you all for your opinion of the last decade of the 20th century.
Rate hearts for nostalgia.
Living in the US at the time, I can say that it was the best decade we have ever experienced. I'm not sure what it was like in the UK, but the main thing I remember is being able to shoot things in video games for the first time. Aside from that, the economy was in great shape and our 65 Mph speed limit was lifted.
This is hard to explain, as it was viewed differently by everybody. But mostly my early nineties experience was mostly pastel shirts, round sun-glasses, fresh prince of bel air and REM's Shiny Happy People. Also the megadrive and sonic the hedgehog cartoons.
Badass Nickelodeon shows.
Aaahh!!! Real Monsters
Hey Arnold
Inspector Gadget
CatDog
Doug
Kenan and Kel
The Wild Thornberrys
Rocko's Modern Life
The Angry Beavers
Suddenly.
Britpop everywhere.

I was born in 1991.

Eurodance was big as well. Well at least up to 1994.
All I remember from the 90s is Pokemon and Playmobile.

You only missed funny clothing, and tv being blurry as fuck.

Still playing NES even though it was released almost 10 yers ago.
I mostly only remember the second half of the nineties, but all my earliest memories were the 90's and they were a pretty awesome time.
Post 90's fashion, still large haircuts, pony tails were huge. Denim overalls and long short sleeved shirts.
My main memories of the mid/late 90's (born in '95)
Playstation one
83 cents a litre for petrol
Lots more rain (Australian)
I know that's not entirely what you wanted OP but that's what I remember of the 90's.. wish I could be 3 forever. Growing up has been a bitch :v:
Amazing.
All I can remember is all the great movies I enjoy, the many great games I've played, and the plenty of shows I use to enjoy without needing cable. Oh and maybe paying 50 cents for candy bars and canned soda.
It was amazing!
Brilliant tv shows, the creation of 'cbbc' rather than just in the mornings and afternoon before the boring programs
and 'citv' got a studio rather than just a tv announcer
Nintendo 64
Dreamcast? I think =s
Playstation (like someones already said)
and the sims.
...Interesting... music, the millennium bug scare. It was just brilliant.
I played Doom and Wolf3D pretty much from about 1993-97, then I got a PS1 and became a true nerd.
The only thing better I think was the cartoons, but I think that's more to do with growing out of cartoons.
Emerging tech and great young person's TV.
Motherfucking Nickelodeon
As Doozle said, computer games were also getting badass at the time. We got Doom, Quake, etc.
EDIT: Oh yeah, MTV actually played music videos and Cartoon Network showed cartoons only.
the fall of the soviet union happened
popular music was also awesome in almost every aspect
Oasis

Pulp beats both of them.
clinton being a scandalous badass
Clinton being the last good president.
This sort of music:

This seemed popular in western Europe. But i dunno how it was world wide.
For example, Germany and The Netherlands got a dance version of the intro for sailor moon.

But we also had good variety in music.
Beasty boys
Prodogy
Scatman
MC hammer
To name a few.
And no internet. Noone had it. Then halfway through the 90's dial-up became popular and soon enough we had broadband.
