Trailer Park Boys - General

Trailer Park Boys is a mockumentary shot about three best friends living in a trailer park in Canada and about all their nefarious money making schemes. It centres around Ricky, Julian and Bubbles and their cannabis growing exploits, criminality and family life. The show is shot from the perspective of some cameramen hired by Julian to give a perspective into his life, this is explained in the film that sparked the series. "I just wanted some of my life on tape, especially since I think something bad is going to happen and I'd like other people to be able to learn from my experiences" The cameramen are often involved in the boy's antics sometimes even getting shot by accident! The show follows a simple format, the boys scheming to go from rags to riches and things going progressively worse towards the end of each season before ending up in a HORRORSHOW usually propogated by their ongoing fued with park supervisor Jim Lahey (HE'S A DRUNK FUCK AND HE ALWAYS WILL BE) where they all end up going to jail and ending up with nothing at the start of the next season. The bulk of the script is improvised and most of the cast "method" acting which is what captures moment after moment of absolute gold with the cast bouncing back and forth saying the funniest shit in the world off-script. I spent my first 10 minutes watching wondering why I was staring at two white guys screaming at eachother but then slowly got into it and realized it's the best fucking thing I've ever watched. An example of the "Method" acting of Jim Lahey, he gets this fucked up for his shots.. he isn't "acting" drunk haha!
