I love this channel.
His voice is so smooth and buttery I could listen to him talk for hours
I love how he say's "Steam"
His voice sold it to me
One day HL3 will be announced. One day.
Isn't there an indiegogo to tell the people at the Valve headquarters that they want HL3? yes there is https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/we-want-half-life-3
What's the point of trying to apply pressure to Valve with that campaign? Valve Time has its downsides sure, but the resulting quality standards are the fundament of Valve's reputation.

It's been too long without anything, people are going to be let down no matter what.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Half-Life 3 is going to come out and it is going to be unbelievable, but come on they are seriously taking a lot of time with this.
Valve's corporate structure (or lack thereof) is probably to blame for Half-Life 3 being as dead as it is. Nobody wants to disappoint the fans who have been waiting all this time, so nobody wants to work on it. It'll either end up being a Team Fortress 2 or a Duke Nukem Forever
What I am really hoping on hl3 is a co-op mode like in portal 2. I know hl2dm has many coop modes but they lack fun.
I love the seamless inclusion of the various chapter titles of HL into his dialogue.
Love XboxAhoy, his videos are super interesting and he delivers his info so thoroughly
Thank god the games are still fun. Pretty much every year I re play all the titles.
I don't like those weird pauses he does all the time. It's as if every single sentence he utters has to have a dramatic punchline or something.
I don't like those weird pauses he does all the time.
for emphasis probably this guy has some great graphics in his videos, especially the guns of gaming series
Well yeah but emphasis loses its effect if it's applied all the time...
I don't like those weird pauses he does all the time. It's as if every single sentence he utters has to have a dramatic punchline or something.
It's a common feature of this style of British narration. You'll hear it a lot in 90s British shows, especially review ones. Top Gear still has quite a lot of... dramatic pauses.
Still haven't played a game that hits that sweet spot for me like HL1 and 2 does. It's why they are still my favorite games of all time, no amount of people saying they are too overrated or linear will destroy that opinion. It's the only games I have ever played where I felt I was completely immersed into a game because the atmosphere is incredible and detailed and the seamless transition between areas makes it so the immersion never breaks. It just feels like a complete adventure that you yourself are personally in. It also helps that the gameplay isn't total shit either.
I still don't get the hate for Xen. I found it to be a great change from Black Mesa, very alien and it isn't very long.
I hated Xen too when I was younger but loved it after I got older.
I think waiting so long for half life 3 may be its downfall. when it finally is announced, we'll get so insanely hyped, and that effect will be amplified by the time we waited. Meaning that no matter what happens, it can't possibly live u to our expectations. Even if every cope comes free with a pound of meth and a blowjob machine.
I think waiting so long for half life 3 may be its downfall.
people said this about half life 2

One of the best features I'd like to see is dynamic water and cloth aka physx that doesn't suck ass. It could be very possible I remember a bucket of water entity for gmod which really spoiled me. Xen is very likely to make a return and its probably to be scarier than before for sure.
Duke Nukem Forever
Literally not possible and people who say "X game will be the next Duke Nukem Forever" have no idea what they are talking about because of the context of DNF's development. A game that simply takes a long time doesn't mean it's going to be bad. And if someone isn't "hyped" for Half Life 3 anymore, it's their own fault.
I'm scared beyond scared that it will go down the same route as Duke Nukem Forever. It's been too long without anything, people are going to be let down no matter what.
Duke Nuken was passed between companies and only valve will ever work on hl3
It's been a while since I last heard of this guy, I watched his videos on XboxAhoy.
What's the point of trying to apply pressure to Valve with that campaign? Valve Time has its downsides sure, but the resulting quality standards are the fundament of Valve's reputation.
People act like this is all standard amounts of time required for the game or something, or that it is even being worked on like a flagship project. All we have heard from Valve indicates that, due to the fluid "no rules, no assignments" nature of their workforce, barely anybody is even working on the damn thing. Instead, most people are working on TF2, DOTA 2, or the next Source Engine and its titles. Part of that is because it is easier; there is less pressure for quality since most of the work is focused on things like store items, not a full packaged game. I hate to say it, but Valve is lazy. Maybe I shouldn't criticize people who have gone through years of school to learn how to do the mind-boggling task of programming a game, but every bit of evidence shows that, because there is no discipline, there is a lack of motivation and therefore a lack of work. I will get hate because by design this forum holds a large fanbase for Valve but really, it has taken them this long just to implement sub-par quality control features to their store page, let alone finish a fucking game with higher expectations than any game in history. [editline]20th October 2014[/editline]
Literally not possible and people who say "X game will be the next Duke Nukem Forever" have no idea what they are talking about because of the context of DNF's development.
