EU's Tusk says alarmed that Poland's policy resembles 'Kremlin's plan'
WARSAW (Reuters) - European Council President Donald Tusk said on Sunday he was alarmed by the similarity of policies pursued by Poland’s right-wing government to what he described as “Kremlin’s plan”.
Poland’s ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party has been increasingly at loggerheads with the EU and Tusk since coming to office in late 2015, although the acrimony between Tusk and PiS dates back many years. The PiS is locked in disputes with the bloc over immigration, logging of an ancient forest and putting courts and media under more government control.
Tusk, Poland’s former prime minister and the arch-rival of PiS leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski, won a second term in March as chairman of EU summit meetings - with Poland the only country to vote against his extension.
“Alarm! A vehement dispute with Ukraine, isolation in the European Union, departure from the rule of law and independent courts, attack on non-governmental sector and free media - PiS strategy or Kremlin’s plan?” Tusk tweeted. “Too similar to rest easy.”
Tusk was referring to, among other things, the fact that Ukraine summoned the Polish ambassador in Kiev on Saturday after Poland denied entry to a Ukrainian official in an escalation of a diplomatic spat over the two neighbors’ troubled past.

A vehement dispute with Ukraine
When was last time Mr Tusk checked on Ukraine itself? Everyone should have dispute with Ukraine over it's education laws, corruption, and ultra nationalistic militias controlled by oligarch forces.
Completely irrelevant topic, congratulations.
Really, what was the point of this? Only Ukrainian nationalism is mildly relevant.
It's relevant because if Tusk is bringing up Poland's dislike of Ukraine's current poltics as a bad thing then he's either hardly informed or simply ignoring it.
Both cases would mean he's projecting double standarts - blaming one country for something that he is ok with happening in another.

Well everyone has an issue with Ukraine's lands being unlawfully occupied by Russia, yet Ukraine should be the one to be looked at?
Edit: not only that, but waht about Russia's ultra-nationalism and extreme corruption, maybe that should be looked into to

:wow:
Gotta love how you're becoming more bold with the Ukraine hate.
The topic isn't even about Ukraine and you're still shitposting, stay classy kari.

Honestly, is it good money working for Putin?

Is "whataboutism" a built in trait of Russians? It's a rather pathetic defence mechanism.

Hey, that sounds just like Russia in it's current state. Let's talk about it instead.
Good job completely missing the point of this debate.

You could pretty much switch out Ukraine for any country in Eastern Europe, including Russia, and it would still be valid.

Well, it is a propaganda tactic that was first (and frequently) used by the the Soviets to great effect, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's some kind of built-in cultural thing now.

Last I checked Ukraine was the only military with openly national-socialist militias funded by the government.
EDIT: Most people commenting here have limited knowledge (at best) on Russia/Ukraine affairs and the conflict, so It's no surprise they can't answer for the current hypocrisy and fascist-apologist attitude of Ukraine's government and its borderline political-illiterate supporters.

The day he notices what's going on Hungary and Spain he's gonna have a seizure. We had this problem for years and everybody decided to altogether ignore it until Russia started to mess with their neighbours again.
People like him are the responsible the EU is seen with less good eyes everyday. You created this problem by ignoring the people and let this go out of control.

Almost sounds like you're describing another Eastern European country.
