Because, as you can see, the style doesn't lend itself well to the shapes of Asian people. Also, you may be interested to know that in the Asian world, being white is thought as being beautiful. I've seen adds for "Skin whitening creams". We, however, use tanners and bronzes and all that shit to appear darker. Anime characters are white because it's very attractive. Furthermore, as evidenced by the pictures, Asian people have smaller eyes. Anime characters have large eyes because it is easier to convey emotions through them, it can also make their faces more expressive. Choosing these characteristics aren't only a style choice, but also a practical one. Also, Yui Hirasawa. That is all.
Because Asia was conquered by white people and white people are now seen as gods there so they dedicate their media to them. escapism. it's the same reason why i've noticed a lot of anime doesn't deal with purely japanese issues.
There's a lot more diversity among people with European ancestry.
Because large eyes and flat faces make for simple and effective expressions. Also wacky colours and styles on everything gives some variety, the simplicity makes subtle distinctions more difficult.
Eh, this is a pretty hard topic to debate because once again people have decided to generalize anime has having one set art style.
I suspect this person is the same one who made that thread yesterday about whites being a minority
Because they are white. More specifically, how do we know they're being portrayed as westerners?

I believe originally the anime art style was inspired by the works of Walt Disney so... yeah.
