The famed "Daredevil" and "Scarlet" team of writer Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev will collaborate on "Infamous Iron Man," CBR can exclusively confirm, a fall-debuting series starring Victor Von Doom -- best known as iconic supervillain Doctor Doom -- as the new Iron Man. "Infamous Iron Man" will take the place of current series "International Iron Man" in Marvel's publishing schedule, also from Bendis and Maleev.

Fucking why.
All right, Bendis, sit me down and talk me through your thinking on this.
Fucking why.
Probably the same reason why we have two Caps at the moment, in a less subtle way.
Probably the same reason why we have two Caps at the moment.
And two spider-men.
And Female Thor and "Odinson".
Fucking stop, Marvel, please.
Doom isnt even a prominent Iron Man villain.
Fucking why.
Because superhero comics are a cesspool of dumb gimmicks.
And two spider-men.
There are more than two spidermans at the moment.
Doom isnt even a prominent Iron Man villain.
They have been trying to make him one since Secret Wars.
The "Infamous Iron Man" #1 solicitation text does note that 'Tony Stark failed," though that could be just the perspective of his longtime rival, Doom.
So that's why there's no FF ongoings and Thing is currently part of Guardians of the Galaxy.
can't wait for everyone to overreact to this as if hero names aren't frequently used by different individuals already
Because Marvel comics are a cesspool of dumb gimmicks.
Ftfy, DC is actually pulling itself together after New 52.
Marvels ripping off DC again.

Lex assumed the role of a new Superman (not really calling himself Superman though) recently, but it makes sense with him because he's always hated Superman for stealing the attention he thinks he deserves, and whatnot.
Doom already thinks he's superior to everyone else. Fucks sake there are comics where he almost effortlessly beats Iron Mans ass because he is better than him. They just had a nearly year long event where Doom was LITERALLY GOD because his ego is that big.
Brian Michael Bendis please stop.

Fucking Ike Perlmutter and his obsession with ruining the comics properties to devalue them so they can get the movie rights back.
Somehow.
I've never been able to get back into any super hero related media since I was a kid since it all just seems like one big incoherent mess now
I've never been able to get back into any super hero related media since I was a kid since it all just seems like one big incoherent mess now
DC Rebirth is a really good place to start on DC now.
I was never a big DC guy. Started up, its pretty coherent. Batmans going to be pretty fucking hype because its [sp]the return of Hugo Strange and his Monster Men, the Monster Men havent really been around since the 40s.[/sp]
I've never been able to get back into any super hero related media since I was a kid since it all just seems like one big incoherent mess now
There's also Dark Horse, which does the Star Wars comics like a story based on the early concept of A New Hope. If you're feeling like a kid, IDW has comics from Ghostbusters, Godzilla, Popeye, Samurai Jack, Star Trek, TMNT, and the currently huge Transformers twin series "More Than Meets the Eye" and "Robots in Disguise"(now just called "The Transformers"). TV was everything for me as a kid, but when I found out that Transformers had its own comic book lines I had to pick them up. I found them more entertaining than the TV show imo.
Hahah oh wow. For fuck's sake.
Fucking why.
I think they're just taking advantage of Stan Lee's senility. They probably tell him stuff like "b-but this is what the young folks are into these days, Stan!" and run with it. :v:
I wonder how long it'll be before someone comes in and insinuates we're being racist because Doom is Romani.
I've never been able to get back into any super hero related media since I was a kid since it all just seems like one big incoherent mess now
It always seemed that way to me as a teenager too. Too many storylines and elseworlds, it's all one giant convoluted mess.
First they ruin Thor now this shit

Does Lex have a Mother Box?
Does Lex have a Mother Box?
Yes.
He reprogrammed it to say "Lex" instead of "Ping".
Yes.

Because of course he would.
It's a leftover from one of last big events in DCU when JL got New Gods powers and positions in a convoluted scheme that would take me over 30 minutes to explain.
Someone please call the police on these comic book artist, they have been taking way to many hits from their meth pipes. :v:
Can I be iron man too?
Oh also, funfact:
They killed off War Machine and are just forgetting about him entirely so two random assholes can both be Iron Man now.
Thank you, Brian.

I've literally heard this from stan Lee's buddies from back in the day. Comic books are and always have been a massive dart board about what works and what doesn't with the writers just tossing everything at it, there really isn't a meticulous planning or elaborate multiple faceted long term goal
And She-Hulk.

Big thing i'm really hoping greater audiences realize about big comics and Marvel in particular:
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/JZVcOmD.jpg[/thumb]
As much as they try to deny that they're doing inane left-field shit to piss people off for attention, it's really obvious they've been doing it for years. Decades, even. If you want to support them writing good stories instead of writing in shit they know is stupid out of hopes of getting outrage sales, stop supporting it. Don't buy these books, even for a laugh.

No, I'm spartacus.

Listen, i get what you're getting at, but guys, it really is mostly just Marvel doing this shit.
DC does stupid things from time to time, but them and especially the smaller guys like Valiant, Dark Horse, Image, they dont even fucking compare to the retarded cockamamie bullshit Marvel pulls.
Like, yeah they throw things at a board and fail a lot, but they dont intend to fail ON PURPOSE in order to incite anger purely for a brief sales boost.

DC, for example, has and does fuck up. But they actually care enough to take into account their fuck ups, and try and use that as an opportunity to not only correct the fuck up, but build off of it and make something good out of it.
DC Rebirth, for example. They acknowledged the New 52 kind of screwed up some important parts of what made DC good, and used that not only to acknowledge their mistakes but also industry-wide mistakes that they themselves helped cause due to two of their hugely influental books in the 80s, Watchmen and TDKR. They're using Doctor Manhattan as meta commentary on how comics have gotten darker, edgier, needlessly so, in an attempt to copy those books successes.
Another DC example: Wally West was turned black because i forget why, and acted like a totally different character, people were annoyed, they managed to correct this in kind of a brilliant way, so now the new black Wally still exists, he's still Kid Flash, but old white Wally also still exists and he factors into the above story, and they managed to explain why they're both named Wally West in a way that, while kind of convenient, is fine.
