Kim Davis has said farewell to the Democratic Party. The Kentucky county clerk at the center of a fight over religious freedom and same-sex marriage says she is now a Republican.
Hilarious video in source. :v:
She was a Democrat? Jesus Christ.

Few remaining Dixicrats, I suspect
Christ on a cracker. She thanks Jesus for "making all this possible".
What did he make possible? You getting thrown in jail for being an ignorant discriminatory bigot who can't follow federal law and perform her job duties as an elected official? Yeah, I'm sure Jesus is super proud, lady.
That video would be hilarious if it weren't so goddamn pathetic.

He was there from the beginning, shining His guiding Light over the world and leading lost children to His kingdom.

yep, too dumb to even check what her party stands for.
sort of explains a lot about her
you know she's a democrat right? way to stereotype and be misinformed
I'm actually from Kentucky, and as much as bash the state for being a shithole. There are actually alot of Democrats in Kentucky but the districts are severly gerrymandered which is why every election almost the entire state votes red.

He would have broken out the whips again.

pretty much everywhere in the midwest is like that, ohio has 4 population centers which make up >70% of the state's population and are completely blue, yet the entire state government is red because the districts are fucking awful. my personal district stretches 150 miles and has a very blue corner with the rest of it being empty countryside

sort of another reason why boener started to worry about his job, his district even being gerrymandered is sort of becoming contested

the video in this is seriously concerning. the woman speaks with such a bizarre sense of grandeur that her speech feels more like proselytizing than announcing that she's switching political parties. the cheers from the crowd are an eerie reminder how prevalent a role religion takes in american politics.
feels nigh on cultish with the way she presents herself

She has no clue about anything political, or social for that matter (on her 4th hubby). So she pretty much just rage-quit.
My extremely republican extremely catholic mother's opinion on Kim Davis: "What a fucking moron, she belongs to the 'jail party'".
Good riddance, tbh. The Republicans truly deserve you.

Gerrymandering is ridiculous, how come no one is actually willing to do something about it?

Some people think Bernie might if elected, I think he has taken an official stance against it, though he hasn't talked much about it.

She wasn't. It's kind of a reverse-Tweedledee&Tweedledum situation; she called herself one thing, her views clearly indicated she was the exact opposite of what she was calling herself.
This is so awesome, especially against the right-wingers who were trying to capitalize on this as a political "gotcha!" moment.
