Good job on the music.. although some were identical so it was a bit repetitive
seems really repetitive and uninspired
:)
Not harsh, he's right. Program's limits is not a good excuse for doing something poor. [editline]12:10AM[/editline] And second song is very monotone and silent. There are no louder/more silent instruments. It's just flat.
:)
Something that is not boring
I don't listen to any certain genre. It's just that the style of these songs are all so generic and repetitive that there's literally no inspiration. It feels like a clone of tons of other bad bands I've heard.
Buy a real fucking instrument. People who make songs on Guitar hero piss me off because they never understand how much effort goes into composing and playing a decent song.
Although the music isn't that bad, there is worse music out there right now that people listen too. :P
:colbert:
:)
The first and second song sound the same, you need to work more on the melodies and not to make the same stuff over and over. [editline]11:41AM[/editline] Listening to the intro to the third song and well, it's the same thing over again it seems. Do short (1-2 minute) songs before you go on and make 9 minute songs, you need to know how to make short things interesting before you make long songs.
I reckon the first one would sound kind of nice played IRL, but there's only two instruments? [editline]08:47PM[/editline] Why? [editline]08:49PM[/editline] Oh no, there is more than two instruments, but they all sound the same. :colbert: get a real band, mate.
If you want to compose more seriously, but start with something easy, go and use Guitar Pro. I recommend 5.2 instead of 6 but 6 could be easier.

Wait, is this, like, the Jimmy Hart rock version of the Terminator 2 theme for Guitar Hero? Awesome! But yeah, it doesn't really sound like much of anything because you're working with somewhat terrible software. Try something like Guitar Prom if that's your thing, it has a demo.
The program is very limited, No one in my family plays instuments. So its tough, i don't have any musical backround growing up, but i would love to start learning how to play instruments.
You don't need to make excuses. If you have an interest in making music, there are some free programs that can allow you to do so, and it will sound a lot better.
:)
I don't think your love for music was questioned actually. Here, I'll show you how it can sound when you're using Guitar Pro for making music ; A 2½ minute long song I made, with a lot of focus on the bass being the leading instrument and A shorter song, close to 2 minutes long. Here it's a bit more conventional on the guitar being the leading instrument. The RSE sounds can sound pretty realistic if you know what you're doing and mix it right.
****No one should really comment here about sound quality if they can't produce good sound quality with their audio devices. It's common sense. Just saying, not pointing any fingers.*****
No, actually, it's complete bullshit. "Let's see you do it" has never been a valid rebuttal for critique, it's fallacious thinking.
****No one should really comment here about sound quality if they can't produce good sound quality with their audio devices. It's common sense. Just saying, not pointing any fingers.***** Listen to this song, to me and I have also played it in my car. This has pretty good sound quality, overall.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSz7xKP04l0 Also, has some cool sections. Its not over repititive either, I wish I could add lyrics to this
I can certainly judge your music, and it is rather bad. Don't worry, that is normal for people just starting out. Continue with what you're doing and maybe buy a guitar.
:l
Perhaps you could use some understanding on how guitar pro works, it's not like your usual software at all, you should use it to compose only. It's midi based, that means, you are composing midi files, that's why it "sounds so bad", you're supposed to sample the midi into real instruments using your favourite audio software later on the mix. (The free alternative which is not nearly as good but does the job is tuxguitar). Maybe a bit confusing to someone starting out, I could explain in more detail if you want.
:(
no wonder. You listen to a lot of classic rock bands that all sound the same.
I've made my own song, in real life tho. Just figured I'd share. I called it Sunrise, pretty simple song.
Restate, if you have bad audio device it lowers quality of any sound, common sense bro. Personally I know if i play music threw laptop, computer, tv, any type of stock speaker, it ruins the music to a certain degree. Any type of music.
Wha...what? None of what you just made sense. It's not even wrong, just gibberish. You should PM me. I think you're confused.
:j
If you can't take criticism give up now. All you've been doing so far is making excuses as to why your music is lacking and then when someone gives valid criticism you try to take to spotlight off yourself and put it on the person giving their opinion. This is likely how your ego deals with opposition. You automatically default to the "the problem isn't with my music, it's with the listener" which is obviously a faulty way of thinking. Also, I found the PM you sent me to be pretty funny.
personally I think yours is probably not good. Start listening to some good music, I would buy some of those bands I have listed. I feel bad you have limited tastes.
What? You don't even know my taste in music. That's dumb [editline]11:35PM[/editline] holy shit hahahahaha
