Arrested Development: "Oh, hey guys...I'm a shy young teen, with straight-As, stuck in a dysfunctional family...I'm very naive, and my notsomuchmaybealittleattractive, cousin MaeB took me out my shell. I'm still timid at the end of the series, but I do crazy things. I even apologize immediately after I intentionally cause destruction. I know, isn't my character original? btw...I got laid. Superbad: "Oh, hey guys...I'm a shy teenager who is paired with a fat, loud, aggressive friend. I'm normally your average straight-A student who lets girls keep the pencils they borrow, but tonight, I'm gonna be bad by buying alcohol, crashing a party and getting chased by the cops. I'm a little hardened at the end of the day, but I'm still a little timid. I know, isn't my character original? btw...I got laid(well, after the credits roll) Juno: "Oh, hey guys...I'm a shy teenager who just got his girlfriend pregnant. Yeah, I didn't know I had it in me, either. My mom whips me, and I don't have the balls to be a father, that is why my girlfriend is giving the baby away. I maybe timid and passive, but I'll stand up for my girl when people make fun of her. I know, isn't my character original? btw...I got laid Youth in Revolt: "Oh, hey guys...I'm your average loser who likes smooth jazz and french classic films. Everyone in my household is getting some, except me. I have a very submissive behaviors and my mother and her boyfriends take advantage of that. I am so timid that I had to develop bipolar disorder in order to impress a girl that I like. The use of two Michael Seras demonstrates my inner struggle. That is right, in every scene, I have to appear timid, so whenever something goes wrong, you will still see a timid Michael Sera to symbolize my timid behavior. Isn't that concept original? Btw...I got laid Scott Pilgrim: "Oh, hey guys... I'm your average hipster who plays bass. Yeah, cool people play bass, like me. I think my voice cracked...I fell in love with some chick who has 7 evil exs. This is all like a comic book/video game. Wait...a nerd like me doing things a macho superhero would do? Wow, that concept is so original. Btw... I got laid Nick & Norah: I haven't watched this one, but let me take a wild guess: "Oh, hey guys, I'm your average passive guy who let's others tell him what to do. Today, I'm not going to listen to them. I'm going go out and do things you'd never expect me to do with a girl with a dark past. I get laid at the end of the film. I like his movies, but Jesus, give this guy some versatility. Why is he the same character in every movie? Put him in a war movie, and make him the private that dies whose death results in the change of characters. Worked ok for Orlando Bloom.
Your argument is now invalid. [editline]10:49PM[/editline] But yeah i know what you mean, it seems he's just sticking to what he knows.

Michael Cera is the main reason I haven't seen Scott Pilgrim. I'm sick of seeing him in the same fucking role every 6 months.
Michael Cera is the main reason I haven't seen Scott Pilgrim. I'm sick of seeing him in the same fucking role every 6 months.
You're missing out, IMO. Scott Pilgrim was an excellent film.
You're missing out, IMO. Scott Pilgrim was an excellent film.
So I've heard, I will probably watch it when I have a chance. I didn't know it was the same director has Hot Fuzz
Michael Cera is the main reason I haven't seen Scott Pilgrim. It was merely made out to be from advertising. And it's clear that the OP hasn't even seen half the films he lists.
Oh, hey guys...
I actually love him. I'm a guy and I'm not gonna regret saying that he's really sweet and there need to be more shy teenagers like him.
dont blame him for what he keeps being cast as
dont blame him for what he keeps being cast as
Yeah, don't hate the guy, hate the characters. But personally, I think he's absolutely perfect for his roles. LOVEEEE HIMMMMMM
I don't really see what the problem is. Holy shit, directors use him as specific characters because he plays them well. There are a lot of actually bad actors out there, why not create a thread about how much you hate them instead of talking about how you hate seeing the same person play the same roles every now and then?
dont blame him for what he keeps being cast as
This. You think he writes the characters he plays?
I liked him in Arrested Development, but he's a method actor; people cast him as that because he's good at being an awkward cock.
I actually like him, he's cute.
I like him too, and the roles he plays he's just really good at them
I'd hate to say it, but oh look, it's this thread again.
I hate his personality like OP but he's good looking.
Actually his character isn't the same type of character that his other roles have been. It was merely made out to be from advertising.
dont blame him for what he keeps being cast as
It is not just his fault, it is definitely the writers. But as an actor, he has the ability to change what the writers think of him. But honestly, I think it is all he can play thus far. Well, the MadTV constables skit was entertaining.
You hate him because of the roles he is cast in? Why not hate the writers or the people who cast the films? I don't blame Michael Cera for Juno being a piece of shit. I blame the writer and director. I don't particularly like him but he's not worth devoting any kind of hate towards.
Give him a chance to get a good role, eventually maybe he'll get one. We never know.
His role in Nick & Norah was pretty decent to me or I was sleep deprived from staying up for 3 days.
It is pretty annoying huh? So far he can't be a "good actor" because it doesn't quite take much notable skill to be how he is, just look at that dude in Kick-ass and Zombieland, if you didn't know better you'd think they were all Michael Cera
one thing I hate more than Michael Cera is people never shutting the fuck up about hating Michael Cera.
What about that movie where Michael Cera plays an awkward teenager? But honestly, you could say that about a lot of actors, just none who play shy characters. What about Clint Eastwood or Nicholas Cage?

Watch Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and tell me that Cage plays that character in another movie.
You forgot Year One. Same shit though. Got laid.
How the hell do you compare Michael Cera's awkward teenager role to Clint Eastwood or Nicholas Cage? Watch Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and tell me that Cage plays that character in another movie.
I'm not saying they play the same character as Michael Cera, but that they play pretty much the same character in all their movies, similar to how Cera does that.
There are probably 3 posts in this thread that don't have a near identical one.
