There is a group of people now trying to get your account user names and passwords on steam. If you are given the following link by anyone on steam. Report it immediately under user misconduct http://steamcommunity-com.1x.fr/ one such user has the community profile of "skiplol". and goes by the following aliases on steam friends "20 D" is one of them. Here is a screen shot of the rest. Once again do not sign in to this sight. It is made to steal your Steam Account. This is my conversation with the person who tried to send me there. http://img17.imageshack.us/f/proofofmissconduct.jpg/ If anyone has a similar conversation with a user, report the said user immediately. Make sure you take the steps I have and report the user that sends you a similar message to you that this one sent to me.
Yeah, things like this definitely haven't been going on the past few years...
just report these phising sites to their webhost and their webhost will remove them
I like to put in fake credentials, such as "go eat a dick" in the user name and "go fuck yourself" in the password field. EDIT: we should spam it with realistic looking account info so the scammer wastes time testing each one and finding they don't work.
i fucking hate dumb fucks who click the links and fall for this shit, it just feeds the hackers and keeps them going, makes me rage so much... /end rant [editline]02:56PM[/editline]
I like to put in fake credentials, such as "go eat a dick" in the user name and "go fuck yourself" in the password field.
sometimes the websites have hidden trojans on them...
Steam Crooks.
That's a pretty convincing fake, except for the terrible grammar mistakes and one game that isn't even available on Steam.
i fucking hate dumb fucks who click the links and fall for this shit, it just feeds the hackers and keeps them going, makes me rage so much...
Happened to me. Didn't really know any better. And I was tired at the time.
The source code isn't even the same, and it has no SSL certificate, let alone not even a convincing URL. You have to be a gullible idiot to fall for this.
if you're going to put in fake credentials, put in ones that look like they could be real so they waste their time instead of looking over them
i put my info in and got a choice of three free games thanks op!
if you're going to put in fake credentials, put in ones that look like they could be real so they waste their time instead of looking over them
I just spammed it with like 30 fake logons that look legit. It was kind of fun making up random user names and passwords. Kind of therapeutic,
Grand Theft Auto: vice City stories
If you're going to scam, at least make sure that ALL of your games on your games list are actually on the PC.
That's a pretty convincing fake, except for the terrible grammar mistakes and one game that isn't even available on Steam.
The grammar gave it away for me. I also do not care if people know who I am on steam friends. It was my choice to show that part.
Remove the goddamn link.
Remove the goddamn link.
I implicitly warned people not to click on the link for the fake site (first link). The second link is my conversation with the guy.
