Fucking ruined. Love how it even cites sources
It's citing media sources (spin sources) like ABC and not straight-up fact-checkers like the census or something.
That said, the entire GOP nomination was built around the fact that the nominees would have had to be as strong, and infallible as possible to beat Obongo.
Mitt Romney was not that candidate, but he proved to he could fight dirty so they let him win anyway.
Now Obama is just unfascining his belt, and Mitt is already going into the fetal position.
My only problem with Obama is he promised to the russian president to be more 'flexible' if he gets re-elected, and in politics that isn't a good sign.
Still, he's the only good choice we got though.

Except it's probably true, based off what we know of Romney anyway.
Pity that voting for any other candidate than Romney or Obama is just wasting your vote.
I mean there's an excellent guy running for presidency on behalf of Socialist Party U.S.A,for example.

With the electoral college system your vote is pretty much wasted anyways, unless you live in a swing state.
Too bad a lot of people hate Obama to the point that they know better than the facts, because to them, he's a secret nazi african terrorist rapist.

This is so immature, I thought obama was better than this. Present to me why you should be elected instead of why your rival shouldn't.

I saw it as a fair commercial. He's pointing out the fact that Romney is definitely not suited for the position of President of the United States.

... he just did in the video?
[editline]18th July 2012[/editline]
but I agree though with your point
This ad might win over a few independents, but in terms of party politics nothing is going to happen.
Conservatives will still vote for Romney to try to keep Obama outta the White House, even though the majority of conservative voters find Romney too liberal.
The odds of Romney winning seem pretty low as it is though.

I wouldn't go nearly that far. The ad may show that he's been lying through his teeth when it comes to outsourcing, but that's all it focuses on.
They want the audience to infer that Romney's not suited for the position, but the focus of the ad shows no conclusive proof that he's not suited for it.
Apart from the guy being an idiot.
Watch as Romney releases his ad which is all cgi and dramatic music with a couple uncited statements because as far as I can tell thats all you need in American politics.
The thing is despite the beliefs of many, globalization is not bad. The relocation of jobs and enterprises to their most productive areas is not inherently wrong. The solution many protectionists would suggest in the face of job losses would be to prevent businesses from hiring overseas. I see myself as a cosmopolitan and don't feel the necessity to force enterprises to stay solely in my country. The idea is to make your country a favorable place to run a business, not to enforce protectionist measures which damage the desire of business interests to run in your country.
I'm no fan of Mitt Romney but I don't think this attack ad swayed me any more towards Obama. However, the understanding of economics isn't important to the majority of voters so demagoguery like this works all the time.

Before anyone reacts, I'm not saying Romney is above this sort of thing.

It doesn't matter. These ads are played in states with close elections. No one thinks it will change who Republicans or Conservatives vote for. It is about changing the 1-5% of voters in swing states that always make an election, and political ads are incredibly effective at accomplishing this.
every bank and large US corporation does all of the things listed in this video (as did the Bush oil companies), it's not much of a surprise lol

I get what you're saying but this isn't about productivity this is about tax loopholes and basically cheating the system that he plans to work for

At least he doesn't do ads attacking the other guy for doing attack ads

Negative ads are a fact of life in American politics, doing a purely positive campaign is a good way to lose
Besides, the tax returns issue is an absolute fucking Romney killer, they've got his ass up against a wall, you can't expect them to just drop it

Vanity Fair... August 2012, what?
At least they cite sources.
We've got some doozies in my state:

I really don't want Obama to win because if he does then he will pass obama care. This will make businesses have to pay for healthcare for every one of their employes which in this economy they can't afford. He is just taking away jobs anyways.

Are you actually aware of how universal healthcare works compared to your current system or do you believe everything fox news tells you about it.

Kids believe everything people tell them. One guy put it well: Schools today have gone away from teaching kids to actually learn. Now it's about programming them politically and spiritually, to participate as pawns in the stress-indusing game of power. The rest is chopped away.
Of course, the guy who said it was John Titor, a man claiming to be from 2036 where everything has been bombed to hell and there are only five states in america. so...
But the gist of it is pretty accurate. There's definitely more pathos than logos in modern 'muriceh. Also a ton of durr. but yeah.
Does anybody else think that slow-motion shot of Obama walking is incredibly badass

Because a cited news source is completely true, all the time.
Not saying anything about the ad one way or the other - I just hate when people think secondary, tertiary, etc. sources actually have any fucking weight. :v:

Well. Not sure about America's showmanship-media. But in Europe, there's always SOME kind of basis for news prints.

You can't run a campaign in the US successfully without a couple negative ads. If anything this ad points out most of the hypocrisy of Romney's campaign not simply as a "He's bad" but, step back and listen to what he says. I haven't seen Romney's Postive ads though.
What happened to Politics being "Here's my Policy, this is what it does for you and why it beats that guys policy"?
What happened to Politics being "Here's my Policy, this is what it does for you and why it beats that guys policy"?
Has politics ever at any point in human history actually been like that?
