[QUOTE=BBC]The Bataclan concert hall in Paris has reopened with a performance by Sting, a year after Islamist militants killed 90 people at the venue.
The British singer told the audience, including survivors, that they had to honour the dead and celebrate life.
...
The concert venue will be closed on Sunday, the actual anniversary, when a plaque is due to be unveiled in memory of those who lost their lives.
The Bataclan is opening again on Wednesday for a series of concerts by British singer Pete Doherty, Senegalese star Youssou N'Dour and British Sixties legend Marianne Faithfull.

I can't believe that it has already been a year. I feel for the friends and family of the 90 who passed away after that unspeakable event; the past year must have felt like an eternity to them.
I can't think of a better way to honour them than to give a big fuck you to fear and terror by holding that concert where everyone can remember the 90, but also to have fun - something which extremists probably can't comprehend.
Hope I don't sound insensitive, but damn, wonder if it will be packed with paranormal anomalies.

What the fuck are you talking about? You don't just sound insensitive, you sound ridiculous.
Can't believe it has been a year already.

"Hope I don't sound insensitive, but I'd like to take this opportunity to tell everyone about my batshit insane beliefs."

What the fuck is so ridiculous about believing in ghosts?

You mean besides believing in ghosts? I'd probably have to say believing in ghosts.

Do you go to any catholic person and call them batshit insane for believing in a bearded zombie rising from a stone catacomb?

Yes, actually.
Let him believe in what he wants to, ffs. A curiosity is just that, a curiosity. He's not harming anyone by believing in ghosts or talking about them casually.
On topic, I hope it all goes well and nobody gets the bright idea to try to repeat what happened for whatever reason. Enjoying ones self in the face of terrorism is what they (the extremists) hate the most.
I can't believe it's been a year already. Feels like just a few months ago.

I don't follow, sounds like you're trying to say
"Why is it so unreasonable to believe in ghosts? Catholics believe in things that are unreasonable and that's basically the same thing."
Sounds like you're arguing against yourself.

Its hard to imagine what people had to experience in that concert hall.

Can't think of a much better start to a thread about the anniversary of a terror attack. Good job.
Does anyone have a link to the original thread we had on the Bataclan massacre?

You want me to sneak in and check for some spoopy ghosts? That sounds like fun to me.
Hey guys I know, why don't we all just keep replying to the one guy who posted! That'll be super productive!
On topic: Definitely feels like it happened a lot sooner than a year ago. Never actually realised that they killed 90 people either, fucking awful.
genuinely struggling to comprehend that it's been a year already
I remember that night sitting at home in my new flat. At that point my internet connection wasn't ready nor anything else. I was in the dark listening to music and fixing some stuff for my furniture.
My girlfriend came home late night from work and told me about the entire incident because I was so oblivious to it the entire time. Didn't get any news or messages from people either. When she explained what happened, my heart stopped and I got this awful feeling. While I was sitting there in the dark, totally content some insane people shot up an entire theater with one of my favorite bands right in fucking Paris. It felt just surreal.
My thoughts are with the families of the victim of that night. Horrible, horrible event, and I hope to god/Flying Spaghetti Monster that the attackers get the maximum horrible punishment.
Let's not argue anymore about pointless bullshit guys.
I think pretty much nobody saw it coming, ever since charlie hebdo, people just expect Paris to be beefed up with counter terrorist task force and expect them to take out the terrorists quickly. But, the terrorists were extremely tactical, targeting a full theatre, having multiple gunmen attacking several spots simultaneously, it all happened extremely quickly. I remembered the kill count just kept going up and up and I was like how the fuck did they kill so quickly
[editline]13th November 2016[/editline]
And unlike charlie hebdo where it was more of a hostage situation at the end, these terrorists just wanted to inflict maximum casualties
youssou n'dour live is gr8... i would go just to see him but sadly i have work :-(
I honestly think this is one of the most disturbing terrorist attacks of all time. Starting in such a relatable situation like an Eagles of Death Metal concert that I could picture myself being at, and all the reports of systematic executions, decapitations, castration, disembowelment, and then ending with suicide bombings just as police were about to save the rest of the hostages...
It may not be as large of a body count as 9/11 or anything, but the level of brutality during that attack is absolutely horrifying.
