Silly Bandz: The end of life as we know it Silly Bandz are the latest craze in all levels of schools across the US right now. The recently were shown on the Today Show, as they are prolific in Elementary through High School. What they are Basically, they are colorful shaped rubber bands that break easily. I recently saw them only a few weeks ago at school, and now everyone has them. What I think I go to High school. I don't see the point in these things. Everywhere around the school is sold out, according to a classmate of mine. Here's their website: http://www.sillybandz.com/ Some quotes from their page:
"Thank you Brainchild Products for offering such a great product and customer service! I purchased the Zoo animal pack on a whim for my son for his birthday. He took them to school and they were all the rage! Kids are going crazy over these. Since then the school store has picked them up and they can't keep them in stock. The booster club just placed an order too!"
What the hell kind of gift is that?
"My co-workers and I use these little animal rubber bands as currency around the office. It's fun! Can't wait to pull out the underwear shaped sillybandz!"
Ever heard of cash?
"My 8th grade son and I purchased 31 packs of the animal shaped rubber bands for his class as Holliday gifts and everyone loved them. Everyone was amazed that the rubber bands returned to thier animal shapes. They wear them like bracelets and try to collect all colors and animals. It seems to be the new trendy thing of 2009. This will be my 3rd order."
Wow, Holliday. Why? 8th Grade? Wow.
"Our kids use Sillybandz as bracelets. These really seem to be catching on amungst the other kids in thier class."
Why are these things so damn 'cool' to people?
I have never seen any of these silly pieces of rubber.
Those are silly.
These are like a stupid version of the Livestrong fad back in 2004. Oh, and there's this:
I have 2,396 silly bandz. Everyone and i* mean everyone evn the teachers have silly bandz. We trade these like drugs!
I have never seen these ever.
I have never seen any of these silly pieces of rubber.
It's only a matter of time, sadly. They are literally sweeping across the country and then the world. Hopefully they'll die soon.
my school has been invaded by this shit
When I went to Great America on Tuesday, they were EVERYWHERE.
I go to middle school, and these things are AMAZING lol. I think the only reason people like these is because they're fun to trade... that's why I like them :D
I know a lot of people at my school who have them. Not really annoying, though.
Here's a video Shows you how crazy kids are of them. It's fine for younger kids, but HIGH SCHOOL?
We call 'em shag bands where I live.
They're cheap and easily replaceable, that's why people like them.
I see them at alot of gas station and department stores. Havent seen anyone use them though.
You are too young to know this, but you know Baller Bands? The rubber bracelets that say random stuff... Like the yellow life strong one? Those became popular and it wasn't the end of anything. It is just a stupid fad that goes around. Give it a few years and there will be another set of things you have to have.
Not the most annoying fad ever. Just pointless.

They were quite annoying, as people shot them across the rooms.

What's this, greedy capitalists seizing on kids' needs to buy retarded things? This is like all the terrible trading card fads in the late '90s.
I want some.
I'd buy their company and entire stock just to melt all down.
What's this, greedy capitalists seizing on kids' needs to buy retarded things? There are kids in my school that still play with Yugioh. I never bought into any of that "It'll be worth something someday".

Faith in humanity, being lost... God I really can't stand those things.
