I mean, it's neat and all but it looks like it's sadly yet another one of those stay in one place vr titles(With teleportation). Which is a shame considering that we already have proof that locomotion can work just fine. Serious sam vr and doom 3 vr for example. And if motion sickness is a legit excuse then just make it optional.

There's also the possibility that other forms of locomotion are there, just weren't shown.
Big name devs getting into VR is fucking huge
Not sure what was going on with all that stuff at the start, but the actual shoots look good so I'm sold.
Looks really good, I haven't bought a VR game in ages, have been holding out for Bethesda (and anyone else with the budget) to make something quality. I have a feeling I could play Doom VFR and Fallout 4 VR quite a bit while everyone else catches up. I wish they showed more actual in-depth gameplay rather than just 1.5 minute trailers for both projects.. They're the only reason I tuned in for the E3 conference in the first place lol [editline]12th June 2017[/editline]
I mean, it's neat and all but it looks like it's sadly yet another one of those stay in one place vr titles(With teleportation). Doom 3 VR is still my absolute hands-down favorite VR title just by virtue of being a game that I can play without feeling like a coddled little baby. Not everyone is physically incapable of dealing with the sensation of standing on a moving platform.

Using trackpad movement while simultaneously shooting and jumping around can be a real pain in the ass. I typically don't have simulation sickness even with trackpad movement but First Encounter VR did get me sick after a while because of how incredibly fast you move.
my main issue with this is that the appeal of doom is how fast paced it is not sure if I can get the same thrill from this with vr in its current form
my main issue with this is that the appeal of doom is how fast paced it is not sure if I can get the same thrill from this with vr in its current form
I'm sure it'll feel more fast paced when you're actually in the world, and turning around requires full-body movement and not just wrist flicks.
my main issue with this is that the appeal of doom is how fast paced it is not sure if I can get the same thrill from this with vr in its current form
remember that Doom in e3 was slow paced to begin with but the actual game was like 500x more amped a/f
I just can't visualize how the teleportation would be fun. It looks so ridiculously clunky to use. Even with the bullet time. It sure as hell cannot be used in the actual game on real difficulties. I mean one of the most basic rules of combat in Doom 4 is Never Stop Moving.
remember that Doom in e3 was slow paced to begin with but the actual game was like 500x more amped a/f
It was slow for demonstration purposes. So people could see the environment and such.
Doom VR has a playable demo last year and people who played it said VR doesn't slow the game down. You can't perpetually move but it's still a really intense title.
