I will rebuy this game till the end of time (minus Jak X Racing)
Hey, don't dis Jak X Racing, it was pretty fuckin good.
Yes YES! [SP]Jak 4 when Sony?[/sp]
Best game series of my childhood period.
I actually liked the first one the best, seemed very whimsical and less dark
Only on the store? Definitely wouldn't mind a disk copy to sit beside my OG PS2 copies and PS3 remasters. HEY INSOMNIAC, release R&C as a bundle! How awesome would that be, have the original 8 games in glorious UHD.
Hell yes, gonna try beating them all before christmas
I actually liked the first one the best, seemed very whimsical and less dark
jak and daxter 1 is one of my favorite 3D platformers, i have no idea why they turned it into a weird GTA-knockoff thing in jak 2. jak 2 and 3 were really disappointing for me
aw man, I was hoping for a full remake like R&C though i suppose that's not out of the question still
Hey, don't dis Jak X Racing, it was pretty fuckin good.
Jak X might have had some major downsides but when it was at its high points it was more fun then the original 3 games could be and I'm usually not a fan of racing games
2 was better, anti-edge nostalgia trips begone
2 was better, anti-edge nostalgia trips begone
2 had terrible checkpoints and races with floaty vehicles. Other than that it was pretty good.
2 had terrible checkpoints and races with floaty vehicles. Other than that it was pretty good.
2 just had funky as fuck difficulty spikes in general to be honest. I thought it used to just rock my shit because I was a dumb kid when I was playing it. But nope, the game has some genuinely difficult moments likely caused by it being a huge departure from previous ND titles in terms of gameplay. 3 comparatively was super easy and something I'm pretty sure I smashed through in a day once or twice as they tightened everything up from what they'd learned from 2. Fuck this is a great series even with its bad moments.
I played all three of the original games when they came out, the first felt like an entirely new type of game, the second was much darker but still fun. I really do think the series came into its own in the third installment, each game had it's dull moments but I'd be damned if I didn't enjoy every bit of it when I was younger.
I preferred the first game but the others were still a load of fun
Loved 1 and 3 but i just couldn't stand 2's levels.
3 managed to hit that sweet spot between 1 and 2 imo, and Jak X was fun af even if I never managed to beat it as a kid.
I'M GONNA KILL PRAXIS
Does it come with the original Japanese dub?
The one thing that fucks me off about PS2 classic is that you have to rebuy the game in the PS store unlike on Xbone all you need to do is insert a OG Xbox/X360 disc and your good to go
Glad to finally be able to play the racing game. The racing game looked fun, but i never got it because it apperently messes up your saves and stuff on your save cards so i never got it. How does it compare to Crash Team Racing?

I've got the original on PS2 and I've never had this happen
Jak 3 was dope
Seems they may of botched the Jak 2 port a little.
I'M GONNA KILL PRAXIS
SHEESH, REMIND ME NOT TO PISS YOU OFF Never in my childhood had I seen a game transcend the boundary of not-edgy to edgy up until that point.
2 just had funky as fuck difficulty spikes in general to be honest. I thought it used to just rock my shit because I was a dumb kid when I was playing it. Fuck this is a great series even with its bad moments.
Yeah, Jak 2 was a solid game but christ I used to wonder if I was just terribad at it or if the game was genuinely hard. I wasn't a particular fan of the timed hoverboard levels (like the one at the mine where you had to drop off the bombs) or some of the mother eye-raking racing levels but it's good to know I wasn't the only one who found them to be testing at times. Or that one where you're on the waterfront area and you have to fight your way through waves of KG troops shooting at you all whilst being careful not to fall into the water and get zapped.
I could be wrong but it looks more like a field of view thing, perceiving as slower movement.
You can see that even the running animation is slightly slower on the PS4
Really the hardest part of Jak and Daxter was that fucking rail shooter section in 3 since the dudes would already be attacking you outside your FoV and the race in Jak X where your yellow eco weapons were disabled because then I had to rely on my hand eye coordination equivalent to Ray Charles' eyes and a powerpuff girl's fingers. Jak X really was a lot funner for me as a kart racer because I think it pulled off being able to catch up to computer players a lot better and even though I'm absolutely positive there is some rubber banding it's not so omnipresent that suddenly a computer is from 5 miles to 5 feet behind you in 5 seconds flat. I love that you are rewarded for doing good with stronger items as you cause more destruction instead of fall behind in place and now you're in 5th place and you have a golden mushroom and bullet bill while the man in first gets only a coin and a single mushroom fucks sake
It's really interesting to me that the shift in tone in the Jak and Daxter series actually worked, considering that it seemed like they were just jumping on trends.
