Call of Duty Black Ops III Beta Available to ALL XBone and and PC Users
Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s beta is now open to everyone on PC and Xbox One.
This follows several days of beta access for pre-order customers only, and mirrors last week’s PS4 beta which also opened to the public.
PS4 owners got a crack at the beta first this year, as Activision has jumped ship, abandoning the company’s long partnership with Xbox in favor of the now dominant PlayStation 4.
Developer Treyarch has also announced that the Reaper Specialist Class will now be available for the remainder of the beta.
Only 11 gbs too.
That's a pretty good move, think of this as a demo not a beta. Never understood why demos didn't come back, now everything is digital it'd be much easier and cheaper to distribute demos and gauge their worth.
Where is the link to the download though?
Get it here

Can somebody tell me what it's like? Better than blops1 mp atleast?
Is acog+revolver still a thing?
It's getting pretty brutal reviews on Steam

The top reviews are literally meme spouting. What did they expect from a CoD game? lol
My only problem with it is I really don't like the characters you choose from for MP. Too edgy for me.

Eh, been playing the beta for a few days and I honestly don't really have anything negative to say about it. Of course, I haven't owned a COD game since modern warfare. aside from some weapon balance quirks everything seems pretty nice. As far as the negative reviews are concerned it is pretty predictable, free game atm so anyone can add it to their account simply to spout a meme review for internet kudos
I'm enjoying the CoD beta, but I get burned out on CoD multiplayer pretty quickly so idk if I'll buy the actual game.

Probably the least surprising news of the week.
The game is good, but unfortunately due to the dodgy netcode and poor optimization it always feels like how good I do in the game is only remotely linked to my skill.
I can do 144fps ez in BF4 that has fucking huge maps but can barely maintain 100fps even with everything at minimum. Also, peer-2-peer sucks balls. I always feel like the enemy can somehow see a full second into the future.

People giving it negative reviews because its COD? No way!

If by brutal reviews you mean meme reviews then yeah its getting what on

Absolutely amazing to play, in my opinion. You have considerably more momentum than in previous titles.
It's in dire need of balance adjustments though.
I embarrassed myself screaming at the slightly poor optimization and bullshit kills and not realizing that the voice activation was... Voice activated. I didn't have my headset on to hear people tell me shut up.
So yeah... Game is pretty uh..... Okay?
Haven't played a CoD since Blops 1.
I'm not going "oh fuck yeah" but I certainly think this is the best offering they've put out in years.
That said, TitanFall still does the movement better

Titanfall also has dedicated servers.
I really wish i knew about the free acces sooner.
Only played for an hour but it was fun. Still not a day one purchase for me but i'd probably buy it later.
I've played a few hours of the beta over the past couple of days and I'm enjoying it a surprising amount. The new movement mechanics feel significantly tighter and more useful than Advanced Warfare's weird aerial boost thing, although they haven't quite nailed down the feeling of momentum nor the environmental freedom of Titanfall. The specialist system is a pretty cool way to shake up loadouts, although I do hope people don't just use the fucking bow all the time like they do now. For the first time since the original Black Ops I'm actually pretty interested in picking this up around release.
don't bother if your pc isn't that good. I have a gtx 960 and I couldn't get 60 on low-medium settings.
I can max out crysis 2 on at least 70-90.

it uses up 3-4gb of ram for one

Would my GTX 970 do ok? That doesn't sound like high requirements, it sounds like bad optimization. Also, sounds like it has the usual CoD netcode problems.
I just got done playing it with everything on high and max AA at full 60fps running on 1920x1200 resolution on my 760 2gb scc. So its plenty optimized but the game looks like blurry shit.
Maybe worth a purchase if they would include dedicated servers, I mean come on now. Peer-to-peer networking is absolutely awful.
It is dedicated servers. The game ONLY uses peer to peer if it can't connect to a server for whatever reason.
As for people complaining about poor graphics optimization, all advanced graphics settings and optimization haven't been programmed into the game for the beta. They will be in the full release.

Did you turn up the resolution ratio in the settings? Change it from .8 to 1.0+

Yeah im going to try that out when i get home later today.
I played it and it was shit but hey ho
its bad
The Black Ops titles are the only ones I've had any interest in. The last Call of Duty I played outside of the Black Ops series was Modern Warfare 2. And this one is apparently going for a cyberpunk approach in some ways. Honestly, it does vaguely interest me. Now if only the damn thing would actually download, this is Steams fault though.
It's like titanfall's movement and jetpack/running across walls mechanic minus titans with cod's netcode

I was looking forward to BO3 too :/
