Damn he's a nice singer! a mediocre song though. My all time favorite music will always come out of beauty and the beast and the hunchback though. After Frozen, the new Disney music got a little bland for me :(
but Damn the autotune is obvious
but Damn the autotune is obvious
it is?
Ungodly catchy.
I preferred the villain song but this one is good too.
much better
it is?
if you know what to listen for, definitely most people mistake autotune as having a snappy robotic sound to it, but you can literally shift notes around however you like to make someone sound perfectly on key and still keep the natural vibration and drifting in their voice. the popular autotune sound only comes from removing that natural variance.
I'll cut em' some slack since The Rock probably isn't a great singer.
He has openly admitted to being a bad singer in the past when he was talking about singing for his mom v:v:v I don't care if it's auto tuned.
I love that the song is about him being a trickster demi-god, [sp] who promptly tricks the person he's singing to give him their boat and trap them in a cave.[/sp]
but Damn the autotune is obvious
it's definitely hella pitch corrected but the performance itself, pitch aside, is good which is think is fine in this type of context when it's an actor rather than a singer
which is think is fine in this type of context when it's an actor rather than a singer
Personally I think Disney's practice from 90s when they were hiring singers who sounded similar to actors to sing songs was a lot better than autotuning actor's voice.
much better
Oh my god I had no idea Jemaine Clement was in this, this is amazing
the rock isn't a bad singer at all tbh, i just personally found the song unmemorable. also there are some bits during the chorus that sound slightly robotic? pretty sure it's autotune
Personally I think Disney's practice from 90s when they were hiring singers who sounded similar to actors to sing songs was a lot better than autotuning actor's voice.
Sure, but that's probably much more expensive and the only benefit isn't going to be noticed by kids (the primary audience) and is only a slight bother to adults.
The only problem I had were the talk-y parts. I feel like they could have tackled those better. It's still a good song, but not as good as "How Far I'll Go" in my opinion.

The hair in this film looks fantastic.
So.. not obvious?
I guess it is if you know the person singing isn't capable of singing as good as what you're hearing.
Pretty catchy, and Dwayne's good for the song, but honestly Disney can't top their other major celebrity tied song "Friend Like Me" from Aladdin. In fact, they almost feel the same. I like "You're Welcome", but for some reason I can't shake off Robin Williams song.
So.. not obvious?
sounds pretty obvious to me any of his extended notes (including "wel-come") sound like a text to speech robot

was this movie good or not? it looks so beautiful
was this movie good or not? it looks so beautiful
I liked it much better than Frozen imo. It's worth seeing for the environmental effects alone, I think.
was this movie good or not? it looks so beautiful
Yea it was pretty good, and a lot of the music I really liked.
If you guys think autotune in Dwayne Johnson's version was obvious then listen to this. Same song, but in russian. I'm not sure if not knowing russian will make it harder to hear but it is very obvious when they used autotune compared to the original. And I'm sure they used it a lot more.
