Halo 5 forge doesn't support portals, I think he means is as you're driving you're hitting triggers causing walls to appear and disappear

wouldn't work for multiplayer since you have to be in on the trigger when it goes off or you'll see walls appearing and disappearing

Sort of, you can play custom games with other players and build levels with them too.
there is a server browser.
You can browse Forge and Custom Games matches, there's always some slayer gametypes going on.

You can play forge and custom games, there's no matchmaking but there is a custom games browser. Also it's completely free.

It's not really impossible, it's triggers set on the geometry as he drives over them that cause geometry behind him to disappear while it builds the new geometry around the next corner. Neat trick, but not impossible (or even difficult) in this specific situation
