It's complete bullshit when a game is programmed to punish you for idling (excluding online multiplayer of course).
I was NOT expecting that safe to drop. What the hell. I couldn't nearly play that game as long as he did, crappy hitbox and detection ruins a game so damn fast.
This was one of the few newer AVGN episodes that made me laugh hard. Great change up from him.
Is it just me or has he gotten... cuter?
I put on my 3D Glasses.

one of his better recent episodes the anger when he was platforming sounded so genuine and the safe drop just killed me

This one feels closer to older AVGN, loved it.

Its just that the mechanics reward going fast, from the way 'health' works with rings to getting bonus lives if you finish a stage fast

But you have to wait 3-4 minutes for it to happen so it's not like its a huge deal.
That bit at the beginning when he's looking for a bad game is kind of a decent satire of his own show.
Well I mean, when you've already explored several system libraries and played some of the most infamously shitty games they have, where do you go from there? Good quality episode though.
He should review games on the PC or on the newer consoles such as the ps1 maybe even the ps2
That's what I was thinking. Its more of a personal rule that he sticks with the older consoles isn't it? I know the later consoles have their share of shitty games.
There's also Kunckles' Chaotix having Metal Sonic attacking you out of nowhere if you idle, although I think he's easy to beat.
Also one minute before he comes. But that's the game punishing you for stuff you aren't supposed to do. In Darkwing Duck you have to wait for precise platform navigation, and it didn't seem like it was particularly long he waited before the safe.
Is it just me or does it sound like he sometimes switches to talking like Jeremy from Purepwnage?
That was perhaps the best, most thoughtfully set-up punchline in any video I've ever watched.
still better hitboxes than darksouls
From what I understand, it's largely due to him being not that knowledgable and experienced after the N64-era
That's really it. I mean in one of the videos he was saying that he doesn't even own a Windows machine, only a mac that he uses for editing and shit. Really a shame because the PC has it's share of great games as well as absolutely shit ones that he could review. Some of them are absolutely hilariously bad.
if avgn reviews a bad pc game on something like steam then he's probably going to have to deal with the developer
if avgn reviews a bad pc game on something like steam then he's probably going to have to deal with the developer
I wasn't talking about games on steam. I know about 30 horrible games that are barely known and were all released in mid/early 2000s By barely known i mean literally the only videos you can find of them on youtube are made by Hungarians after a somewhat famous Hungarian guy who was reviewing bad PC games reviewed them
