David Cameron has said he would not serve as prime minister after the 2015 general election if he could not deliver a referendum on Europe.
The prime minister said he would not "barter or give away" his pledge to hold a vote on EU membership in 2017.
He made the "really clear promise" in a phone call with Tory activists ahead of next month's European elections.
Labour and the Liberal Democrats have said they oppose a referendum unless more powers are transferred to Europe.
The Conservatives' commitment to hold a referendum on Europe is likely to be a "red line" in any negotiations with other parties about a potential coalition should next year's election not produce an outright winner and there is another Hung Parliament.
What is the guy on the left doing?
According to telephgraph he wants the following,
:: New controls to stop “vast migrations” across the continent when new countries join the EU;
:: Tighter immigration rules to ensure that migrants come to Britain to work, not as tourists planning to cash in on “free benefits”;
:: A new power for groups of national parliaments to work together to block unwanted European legislation;
:: Businesses to be freed from red tape and “excessive interference” from Brussels, and given access to new markets through “turbo charging” free trade deals with America and Asia;
:: British police and courts liberated from “unnecessary interference” from the European Court of Human Rights;
:: More power “flowing away” from Brussels to Britain and other member states, rather than increasingly centralising laws in the EU;
:: Abolishing the principle of “ever closer union” among EU member states, which Mr Cameron says is “not right for Britain”.

As an American it's seem like he wants exemption for a lot of the EU regulation in order to stay a member?

Let's see. Cameron is making a poor attempt to look serious, and [del]Miliband[/del] Wallace is just doing weird things with his expression, which is pretty normal.
Clegg is the only thing unusual about this image.
According to telephgraph he wants the following,
So pretty much "We'll stay in the EU as long as we can completely ignore the EU, like we're not in it."
Yeah not sure how that's going to work.
:: Abolishing the principle of “ever closer union” among EU member states, which Mr Cameron says is “not right for Britain”.
And this is definitely not going to happen.
Believe it when I see it. Seems like Cameron is starting to get nervous about UKIP sniping votes off of him and is trying to reassure the electorate that he is "super cereal" about giving a referendum. Once he is reelected into office, what guarantees the voter he will pull through with his end of the bargain?

This is one promise I'd be happy to have him go "Lol jk" on. The whole idea of getting out of the EU or trying to be in the EU-but-no, is as ill-conceived as Nick Clegg
He promised a referendum last time he came into office, but he abandoned it. What makes people so sure he's not going to do that again?
