I watched this movie tonight, Holy fuck this movie was actually really good. Fuck the random jump scares, this movie legit just fucking pushes the limits of creepy and gresome. There is no sacrfice and scaring you shitless and showing you the gore. That hanging part really grasps the point of creepy.
This has to be the best horror film I've seen in awhile. Everything that is so cliche about modern horrors these days is totally taken out in this movie. No cheap scares. Disturbing. Loved it.
Everything that is so cliche about modern horrors these days is totally taken out in this movie.
Are you serious? This whole movie was a cliche. Couple moves into supernatural house, kids get spooky, [sp]everyone dies, leaving it open for a sequel.[/sp] And you know what's going to happen from the instant the 2nd tape is played. That said the tapes were as disturbing as fuck.
Went to see this high as fuck. Needless to say, i was scared driving home. [sp]The scene that got us was when he was walking around his house with the kids skipping around and shit[/sp]
I really want to see this one. The imagery of the people being hanged on the tree is fucking disturbing and beautiful at the same time.
[sp]The scene that got us was when he was walking around his house with the kids skipping around and shit[/sp]
that was such a ridiculous scene because a) children in horror films are such a boring cliche and frankly i dont care about kids b) the "makeup" was laughably bad. it was just some grunge texture slapped on in post. at one point you can clearly see how they goofed up the motion tracking of it. overall i found the film to be very sub-par. it did ha e some cool moments i suppose but overall it was just filled with too many cheap jump scares and such. and the ending was so dull and tension-less

The [sp]lawnmower[/sp] scene fucked with me real bad. Edit: Also, main character Gordon Freeman.

The trailer made it look kinda awful.
May watch this next week, looks like a good watch.
Just seen it, I didn't know things got that bad with the guys at Immortal that one of them had to do a night job as a Horror villain.
The trailer was better than the movie IMO.
I'll be seeing it in less than an hour. Hopefully it's better than The Possession.

We couldn't stop laughing because all we saw was Abbath

Okay, not bad. Although, I don't usually go see horror films, so maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about. [sp]The plot reminded me of creepypasta, which is something I actually liked about the film. The ending was a little disappointing in execution, though.[/sp] Also, that music. The music was really unsettling.

The home videos were awesome, but then they ruined everything with "oh no demonnnn." Horror movies need to get the guts to have unsolved mysteries. This movie could actually have been pretty scary if they never quite gave an explanation for the murders or anything like that. But no, we've got to have a specific antagonist so we can bring him back for sequels.

Oh, thanks. I found the music that played during the tapes to be creepier, though.
