there is no such thing as real art btw I'm sure the video you posted was received just as negatively then as "hipster" art is today. what the general population considers art to be has changed radically over the years and it's still changing do yourself a favor and get your head out of your ass
you should be sorry because you're incredibly pretentious
Kay, bro. Enjoy the video for what its worth then, or don't.
I dunno if I'd consider it BRILLIANT ART, but I suppose it was pretty clever. EDIT: Wait, no. Near the end it's just weird.

Oh god I couldn't stop laughing. The Stopmotion is just so amusing.
I like it because it isn't effortless, I don't think it's trying to make any sense either. Just a cool stop motion flick.
I'm hungry now.
"Real art" is a stuck-up term that belongs to the centuries already gone by.
lovely
Art is anything somone recreates as their own perception. its not something that was, or something that cant be made again. Dont be silly.
I'm sorry if I consider it to have more artistic value than
I remember when that was posted. It was followed by 10 pages of people arguing about what art is.
That poor hobo, he had no shoes to eat. :frown:
I remember when that was posted. It was followed by 10 pages of people arguing about what art is.
I was in that argument. It was fun.
People need to learn that art has more than one definition. Art is not just the creation of beauty and significance, art is also conveying a message through a variety of means, be it canned shit or an entire stop motion film about food. - And I'd like to add there are more definitions than just these two, but let me focus on the majority of modern art here. How many respects modern artists who put hard work into letting a specific message get through their work? Reading from Facepunch, not a lot. You don't understand that the very first reaction you get is part of the artistic message. Art is for the open, so once you settle down with the idea "Okay, a naked woman runs around screaming" you need to start looking at her actions, and the specific items on the set. Always and I repeat ALWAYS remember that nothing in modern art is a meaningless or has insignificant detail. In art everything matters and everything is carefully set up to create a message. Just open up a little and stop whining, will ya?
I agree that art is indefinable, it has many forms and even more interpretations, to make it impossible to narrow it into a single box and label. While some artistic expressions are questionable they deserve equally valid respect and attention. However I think we can all agree that hipsters are fucking annoying.
Let's face it if a guy in weird glasses and long hair made this you'd debunk it as not being real art too
I wonder what's for dinner
Wow that's pretty awesome [editline]11th December 2010[/editline]
there is no such thing as real art btw I'm sure the video you posted was received just as negatively then as "hipster" art is today. what the general population considers art to be has changed radically over the years and it's still changing do yourself a favor and get your head out of your ass
It's still art but that doesn't mean it's not terrible
However I think we can all agree that hipsters are fucking annoying.
I’m not even sure what Facepunchs definition of ‘Hipster’ is; seems that any young person who dresses or acts a bit odd is a hipster to a lot of people here. Also, I love Svankmajer. Should also see 'Dimensions of dialogue'.
Porn is the one and only real form of art.
The lunch one was the best, I think. I got the message in that. I would guess it to be that the poor man is copying everything the rich man does, perhaps in a hope that in imitating them they could become like them. It's like how people buy products and things because a celebrity promotes it. In buying it it makes you more like them, and I reckon that's the message of lunch. Didn't really understand the meanings breakfast or dinner though :v: It was interesting, I quite enjoyed it. And art is subjective. Some people won't interpret this as art. Others will. There is no 'correct' way to interpret it. If you don't consider it art then it's not art to you. If someone does, then it's art to them. Take for instance birdsong. Some people consider it a form of art. I don't. Mine or their view does not make an objective fact of whether it is art or not. It's up to the indiviuals' perception as to what is or isn't art. There's no right or wrong answer or thought to it.
It was amusing and gross to watch at the same time.
I don't understand why anyone would argue about what art is.
the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.
Seems to sum it up quite nicely.
Reminds me of Gmod stop motion videos.
Art back in then was creepy. But still art and pretty damn awesome, much deeper than it is today.
It's Czech by the way. I recall seeing it as a small kid on local TV way back, never seen it till now, thanks for showing me again.
That was awesome. I think I've seen them before.
