Bulawayo City Council has asked its more than 1 million residents to flush their toilets simultaneously at 7:30 p.m. Saturday when water supplies are restored. City officials say "synchronized flushing" is needed to clear waste that would have accumulated in sanitary facilities which will have been affected by days of water outages. Bulawayo's two main supply dams have been drying up due to drought conditions prevailing in the arid, southwestern part of Zimbabwe raising fears of worsening water shortages before the rainy season starts in November.
Haha oh god that sounds so ridiculous yet so awesome.
It's rather odd to hear that said seriously; last time I heard that sentence, it was as a joke on QI as a reply to how Parisian authorities clean the sewers.
Steady men! Stand your ground! Don't flush until you can see the whites of their eyes!
Reminds me of aaah! real monsters episode with the tidal wave that one of them tried to surf on in the sewer during the superbowl halftime toilet break.
We had something similar happen during the 2010 olympics where between periods for the gold metal mens hockey games everyone would use the washroom at the same time and the sewer system overloaded.
Would laugh if it all came back up and everyone's homes flooded.
Makes me think of that scene in Flushed Away when everyone flushes the loo at once and theres a huge tidal wave shortly after.
We won't be laughing the next day when the earth is out of orbit.

This reminds me of that Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide episode where Ned and friends flush every toilet in the entire school. Can't seem to find a clip of it on YouTube though. It was a good show, but it's a shame that it got canceled when Nickelodeon started going to shit.

They wanted to make a spin-off sequel for it, but a combination of actors being busy and money being unavailable stopped it from being produced.
it was just a show for little kids wasnt even funny
Life in Zimbabwe.
Maybe it doesn't flush at all? :v:
I lived in Zimbabwe when I was younger. I wouldn't recommend it.

Then every zimbabwean house floods, causing a disaster with thousands dead. Just because a couple people decided not to flush. Selfish bastards.
They should offer everyone a trillion dollars to flush their toilet at a certain time Think of how much bread you could buy with that kind of money Like 3 slices
Couldn't this plan...SERIOUSLY backfire?
it was just a show for little kids wasnt even funny
oh no liking things you don't how is this possible
And then it created immense amounts of pressure in the sewage lines which made shitgiesers shoot out of the toilets on the backend of the sewage pipes, covering a third of the population in fecal matter
Makes me think of that scene from Ed, Edd, n Eddy.
Would laugh if it all came back up and everyone's homes flooded.
actually there's a possibility of an overflow to cause it to be ejected untreated into rivers and streams
