I can only imagine when this technology goes wireless...
GearVR is wireless. Also the consumer version for GearVR is releasing in november, supports the samsumg 2015 lineup, and will be $99.
GearVR is wireless. Also the consumer version for GearVR is releasing in november, supports the samsumg 2015 lineup, and will be $99.
people need to stop calling it 99$ without also explaining that it requires a specific very expensive phone
people need to stop calling it 99$ without also explaining that it requires a specific very expensive phone
Just like the rift will be at least $300, yet require a $1000 PC.
people need to stop calling it 99$ without also explaining that it requires a specific very expensive phone
that goes without saying, i also included in the same sentence that it supports the Samsung 2015 line.
people need to stop calling it 99$ without also explaining that it requires a specific very expensive phone
Actually the consumer version will work on ever 2015 flagship Samsung phone. Galaxy Note 5, the Galaxy S6, the Galaxy S6 Edge, and the Galaxy 6S Edge+
Was the first scene real? Literally can't tell but I am watching from my phone. [editline]25th September 2015[/editline] Now that I look on my PC it seems to be scanned in.
If I remember correctly the landscape thing was made by Adam Foster who made the Minerva Metastasis mod.

[editline]25th September 2015[/editline] Now that I look on my PC it seems to be scanned in.
All three scenes are composed out of a large set of standard high-res photos that are compiled together by software, compared etc. to generate a large, high-poly 3D mesh via magical means. This is then unceremoniously dumped into Unity with the Unlit shader, with additional lighting placed into the scene manually so that lit meshes (like the Portal robot) can look right. The first two scenes are from Valve's offices, the third is somewhere in Iceland. Adam Foster did a big three-part writeup on the process behind making these demos, which you can read here.
