Thinking about it myself. I want to get in and do some game design work. Some computer related things, ya know all that stuff. The thing for me is I always in my mind, pictured America to be the best place to get started studying game design. I want to hear your oppinions. Any of you done this? or similar? if not for information, then this thread will at least be a few laughs. Oh and post your experiances.
First things first: Study English.
I hear it is a great idea, if you have the opportunity go for it. Plus it looks even better on your resume. My one friend moved to Haiti to study archaeology. I wish i could travel to foreign countries, i love culture. And America is a great place to go to school, we have a wide variety of schools.
Do it. The one regret my people have told me was that they didn't travel while they were young
Do you have to pay for college in Ireland, OP? America may not be a better option, especially if you're in a country where you don't have to pay tuition. If that's your case, study at home and then work overseas if you really want to travel.
First things first: Study English.
Quite insulting, considering English is my primary language. I guess the summer months away from school have taken a tole on my grammer and pronunciaton, and my dependency on my spell-check has grown somewhat. Although it is also 3 in the morning and i havent slept in 2 days may account for most of those errors. No such thing as a free lunch anymore boys, now free mousepad? thats another kettle of fish. I seem to work better in an enviroment where there are many people, and being here and doing a course like game design....its quite lonley. That being said, I'm sure it means that i can have more 1-1 time with the instructor and a better learning enviroment seeing as the teacher would only have to focus on a few students. I guess there are pros and cons to it.
