'Brain, Brain, Go Away', a humble step back into the world of fiction - Short Story/Blog Post

So, I used to write stories much more, mostly back in high-school. Since graduating, I haven't written anything fictional at all, and for a long time I just stopped writing. I recently started my own blog and initially only wrote extended pieces on ideas or issues in the world, sharing them on my Facebook. I have since started 'blogging' in the more conventional sense, and only the other day did I decide to try my hand at fiction again.
(And just as an aside for any other creative (or otherwise) writers here: you should read Stephen King's On Writing. Brilliant book and hugely inspirational!)
But yeah. I wrote this on the bus to and from work. It's largely a narrative of my thoughts and the struggle to push past the cynicism and reconnect with my creativity, something I think a lot of writers could relate to at times.
This is a first step after a long time, and I know I was rusty here and there, so I'd really appreciate any and all feedback on it (:
Thanks!
