A union is claiming that the London Underground could be "completely shut down" over the bank holiday weekend as staff prepare for another strike.
Workers who control the power to run the Tube are preparing to walk out in a dispute over pay, according to Unite.
Union members are in talks with London Underground managers today to avert another Tube strike over the bank holiday weekend.
Unite claims that the network could be “completely shut down” if workers who control the power to lines walk out.
The 40 technicians, mostly members of the union, work in the control room that provides the electricity for the 270-station network.
The strike is due to start at midnight on Saturday and last the entire weekend until 8am on Tuesday.
This is bullshit.
Main reason given last time was over ticket booths closing, but they had more people apply for a pay off than the number of staff they were looking to make redundant.

The strike starts midnight Saturday. IE, when Friday flips over from 23:59PM to 00:00AM Saturday. I'm going Saturday, too, so we're both boned.

woops, I thought I was safe :(
Why is it the one time I go up to London for the first time in ages that this has to happen.
Do they run a replacement bus service if the tube is on strike?
if you're having train problems i feel for bad for you son
i got 99 problems but the tube aint one
but seriously, it seems like the tube is going on strike every other week now. I'm obviously not familiar with what's going on but why does it seem to me like this is just people unionizing for the sake of unionizing
Time to update my site

thank god we have reputable unions!
I'm vacationing in London right now this affects me
We're deep into the BH weekend and the strike has been called off or just not happened. I successfully made it to MCM in the end. Watch out though as there are scheduled engineering works on some National Rail lines.

Oh, and don't just sit on a train for 15 minutes talking with your friend when it's come to a stop like I did. Ended up doubling back to the station we just fucking came from.
