The main plot (if you can call it that) is that Henry Spencer (that nice man in the poster) tries to survive his industrial environment, his angry girlfriend, and the unbearable screams of his newly born mutant child while constantly loosing his shit throughout the process with hallucinations, dreams and mass amount of symbolism. The main amazing thing that Eraserhead has to offer that is very much part of the auteur theory for David Lynch is sound; sound is one of the main focuses in Eraserhead (A good example is the very subtle fairground music in the industrial area or the intense sound of a pin dropping within the apartment). I have a lot of respect for this film because David Lynch had put blood, sweat and tears into something he believed in and spent restless nights constantly making this movie I would personally call that dedication. The Main Characters Henry Spencer Here we have our quiet, polite and insane protagonist who is the main focus of this movie, Henry is shown throughout the entire film as a timid man who speaks very few words though you have a strange calming feeling with him. This film in all is a very odd film as well as being a midnight movie; you either hate or love this film, I personally love it, but the full movie is out on youtube; here are the links: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Part 7 Part 8 Part 9 Give it a watch and say what you think; and remember: There is no wrong answer to what this movie is about.
Always wanted to watch this, starting now, thanks op!
Once he [sp]kills the horrible excuse for a human baby, everything that transpired afterward grossed/freaked me out.[/sp]
One of my favorite movies of all time. Wouldn't consider it a horror film, though.
It definitely felt disturbing and I loved it.
"In heaven, Everything is fine..." My favourite scene is the dinner scene at Mary's house. Dinners with your girlfriend's parents are always awkward. Damn tiny chickens.
Everytime I watch that movie the very last scene always puts a smile on my face. I don't know why, it's like Henry's finally at peace or something.
The pencil machine scene is beautiful, as I remember. I haven't watched the film in a while so perhaps I should give it another watch. Then again, this isn't a kind of movie you would watch over and over again. [editline]6th April 2011[/editline]

Will forever be on my top 10. "In heaven... Everything is fine..." I have a bad habit of calling people with fat faces "Lady in the Radiator". Has anyone seen Mulholland Drive? Another very ambiguous Lynch denouement.

I would also recommend Twin Peaks if you're into David Lynch.
I love this film, my favourite part is the sequence when [sp]Henry goes behind the radiator[/sp].
