will it be better than 2013? who knows m8 snippet of d'angelo's studio sessions this has been in the works for 14 years... But a 5 second clip is just teasing. :( James Vincent McMorrow - Post Tropical = neat record... it's a cross between Bon Iver and James Blake if that makes sense, worth a look if it's your thing. Warpaint - Warpaint = Good stuff, quite decent bit of dream pop. new Actress album, didn't realise it was in the making until now.. Not yet listened to this: can't wait.. Should be good to start the year off properly with a cracking soul record. Haven't yet got in gear yet even though the first month is almost up. What are people digging so far? I'm really excited for Oxymoron, Kanye's new album (Q-Tip is helping out), Lana Del Rey's new album, Phantogram's new album, and Beck and St. Vincent. Hesitant for new Wu-Tang if it does actually come out (I still think they've got a lot of talent individually but they've struggled with group stuff for a while). There's a possibility of some stuff from OutKast too. Not getting my hopes up but at the very least I think the Big Boi x Phantogram EP has a good possibility of coming out http://www.mtvhive.com/2012/12/03/big-boi-vicious-lies-and-dangerous-rumors-interview/
Sarah [Barthel] and Josh [Carter] from Phantogram. This shit is so monumental. We came and camped out here for seven days, and there are so many records that we did, so many beats and ideas that we worked on. We only used three or four of them for this record, but we’re going to do some stuff for their stuff, and then we’re gonna do that Big Grams project, a one-off EP type of thing.
[editline]25th January 2014[/editline] oh yeah and the Mac Miller x Pharrell album. The old snippets of it are pretty good and Mac has only improved since then.
they've got a lot of talent individually but they've struggled with group stuff for a while).
I thought their recent material was pretty good, I just didn't expect GZA and especially Ghostface Killah to release records that can surpass even some of their early stuff as a group.
New Agalloch? Great news. There is a new Silver Mt. Zion album out, not heard it yet.
Can't wait for Beck's new stuff.
The singles are meant to be good, I personally don't bother listening to them until the full thing arrives. Only a few weeks away too..
I'm only stoked for the new Issues album next month, not really paying attention to new releases and stuff.
there's not much i'm excited for this year, maybe the new st. vincent album and the inevitable steven wilson album but apart from that I'll probably just track them as they come out actually i'm super excited for the new avalanches album if it happens but I doubt it will
This is already a strong contender for my album of the year
oh also Run the Jewels 2 might come out this year. There was also apparently a new Have a Nice Life album that leaked but I haven't heard it yet.
hmm possible new nightwish album
The new Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks album is actually surprisingly good, for me it's the first thing of his I've really liked since Pavement.
Young fathers are releasing an album in the upcoming months, and s / s / s released a song right before christmas.
i remember hearing something about a possible new world's end girlfriend album
also, new transatlantic album tomorrow, though it was already leaked 5 days ago
Johnny Cash's daughter released a record, might give it a whirl Still searching for a good hip-hop record to start things off [editline]26th January 2014[/editline]
Young fathers are releasing an album in the upcoming months, and s / s / s released a song right before christmas.
Nice, liking Young Fathers a lot; just realised this will be their first proper studio release which is good.
First 2014 album I've bought: [t]http://jesusfuck.me/di/XQ72/al-namrood_heen_yadhar.jpg[/t] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Te--TGA-tZU Al-Namrood - Heen Yadhar Al Ghasq It's Saudi black metal. That alone make it worth a listen. Otherwise the only release I'm waiting for so far is the new album from Dornenreich.
Young fathers are releasing an album in the upcoming months
Dead? It already leaked. I prefer their other two tapes but it keeps in their experimental style, although it's more accessible.
I'm on the lookout for a new Nouvelle Vague album, the last thing they released was a best of in 2010, and they haven't broken up so hopefully one is coming
Whoah, they new James Vincent McMorrow is a change from his first album, which is pretty amazing too. New Cloud Nothings https://soundcloud.com/cloudnothings/im-not-part-of-me I have forgotten how to link soundcloud yay
Dead? It already leaked. I prefer their other two tapes but it keeps in their experimental style, although it's more accessible.
Oh, I wouldn't know, I don't care for leaks usually. Good to know it's out there, though.
hyped for new frank ocean, new kendrick, new mastodon
TDE said they were gonna release 6 projects this year but they love to bullshit about things like that. Isaiah Rashad and Schoolboy Q are 100%, and one will probably be something from SZA because she hasn't done much on TDE yet. That could potentially mean Ab-Soul, Kendrick, and Jay Rock would all drop projects as well but I just don't see it, although that would be amazing because I could really use some new Jay Rock.

Possible new Radiohead? They're done touring and they played newly written songs on that tour and that was over a year ago
Possible new Radiohead? They're done touring and they played newly written songs on that tour and that was over a year ago
I have doubts tbh, but it has been a while since that King album. 3 years... damn..
I'd like some big artist to pull out a Beyonce this year. I think it's super cool.
