Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says he wants to reach a deal with world powers on Tehran's nuclear programme in three to six months.
He told the Washington Post he saw a resolution of the issue as a "beginning point" in easing US-Iran relations.
Mr Rouhani said he was fully empowered by Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, to negotiate on the issue.
On Thursday, Iran will hold talks with the P5+1 group of world powers on Tehran's uranium enrichment programme.
Oh man Israel is going to get so mad
Good. I'm still VERY weary of all of this though.

Throwing their toys of the pram again? Not much of a suprise.
I'm happy about this new apparent progress, a stable and more open Iran is better than what it was before.

keep in mind rouhani, like every iranian politician, was vetted by the guardian council which is effectively appointed by the supreme leader.
at risk of sounding cynical, this "progress" is probably just an illusion. iran will not become more free, and a real breakthrough in negotiation over the nuclear issue probably won't happen due to how unwilling both iran and the usa have been to actually negotiate.
That's a big task for Rouhani, and if he isn't able to deliver, I think it'll speak volumes about the current state of power vested in Iran's elected leadership vs that of the Ayatollah
i think the fact that the supreme leader can resign the president, any member of parliament, and makes all judicial appointments speaks enough.

That said, if it leads to less sanctions on Iran it can only be a good thing for Iranians. They seem to always get the short end of the stick in these matters
That would be fantastic if this can be all resolved so quickly. I think the world really needs to get over this issue and move on with itself.
This guy really has no power, and in my opinion this is just a propaganda move. Look at the positivity Iran is getting recently, it's just what they want. They look better than Israel, and the news is flooded with good things about them. I don't believe it.
