I wonder if this and shelter means that radroaches will actually be dangerous.
If our lucks high enough, does that mean a leprechaun will come in mysterious stranger style and punch raiders in the balls for us?

I'll probably end up running around with near-max-luck and high int if FO1 through NV are anything to go by.
It's a shame this was the last one. They were really good
I hope the part about the fairy blessing the bullet means critical hits instead of a dice roll based damage system or some other bullshit.
Yeah, seems like luck affects the rate at which you charge your crit bar. Really excited for the new crit system, seems a lot more tactical than the random crit system
When are they going to show actual gameplay? I must be the only person who doesn't give a crap about these cartoon videos of skills that we've had and known about for more than a decade now.

Did you somehow miss all the E3 footage?

We have less than three weeks though. Damn it, we have three weeks left, I'm getting hyped now.
I love how the leprechaun at the end is the same one from the Boston Celtics logo.
I'm not a fan of how they said "a well placed shot just might not work." Is that telling me that skill can be nullified by an RNG?
I'm not a fan of how they said "a well placed shot just might not work." Is that telling me that skill can be nullified by an RNG?
probably more of that enemy has a lot of health/armor, but crits might kill it/pierce armor
I'm not a fan of how they said "a well placed shot just might not work." Is that telling me that skill can be nullified by an RNG?
I think it's more like a well aimed shot to the head with a 9mm handgun won't do jack shit against power armour, but with enough luck it might just hit a weak spot and penetrate. I doubt they will make luck anything but beneficial, just supplying occasional bonuses rather than gimping the player because their luck skill is low.
ninja'd
If our lucks high enough, does that mean a leprechaun will come in mysterious stranger style and punch raiders in the balls for us?
Well it is Boston.
I'm not a fan of how they said "a well placed shot just might not work." Is that telling me that skill can be nullified by an RNG?
Well, I mean, it's an RPG. Dice rolls are a huge part of the experience. Ever play the originals? Your success in battle is pretty much entirely decided by luck. And I'm not talking mechanical luck, I mean that it's a game of two people standing still hitting and each other and whoever can hit first wins.

Dice rolls made sense in turn based top down primitive graphics since that's all you have to go on, but when you're actually physically aiming a gun at something and then physically shooting it, it makes no sense for your gun to just randomly miss and not actually shoot where it's being aimed at.
I hope the part about the fairy blessing the bullet means critical hits instead of a dice roll based damage system or some other bullshit.
Random damage was confirmed to no longer be in the game. Luck now controls a critical meter that, when full, allows you to land an assured critical hit during VATS, which is what the fairy thing is referring to. I don't know if random crits are still in the game but now your weapons only deal a fixed amount and their accuracy is also fixed, no more dice rolling for that.
Well, can't say they haven't done it before
not this again. if you knew how to balance your character, morrowind was fine. this is a different situation than what SGTNAPALM or simkas are discussing
[sp]"At least your misfortunes can be someone else's fortune."[/sp] What did they mean by that? Or am I overthinking a small joke?
[sp]"At least your misfortunes can be someone else's fortune."[/sp] What did they mean by that? Or am I overthinking a small joke?
Just a small joke about life in the wasteland; also a reference to the Miss Fortune New Vegas perk that's no longer in the game.
not this again. if you knew how to balance your character, morrowind was fine. this is a different situation than what SGTNAPALM or simkas are discussing
Morrowind's system was a boring mess. Sure if you built your character sensibly you'd be able to hit most of the time but it didn't make it an interesting or fun combat system.
not this again. if you knew how to balance your character, morrowind was fine. this is a different situation than what SGTNAPALM or simkas are discussing
Even if your character is complete shit, your sword shouldn't just randomly magically miss your target when you're physically seeing it hit.
no
It's heavily inspired from it obviously, no need to be an ass.
