• Hostage taking in Manila, Philippines

Now, I'm a Filipino living there right now so basically every news station is onto this. This 55 year old man who got fired from the police for extortion decides to take an entire bus hostage with an M16 at 10 in the morning. He releases some of them. Fast forward about 10 hours and negotiations have gone sour. The bus driver escapes and explains to the police that everybody else is dead. They send in the Philippine "S.W.A.T." team to assault the bus. Basically, they've spent an hour, armed with handguns, a few assault rifles and one sad-looking shield smashing windows to gain entry. Most of them have vests and helmets. They've only recently gained entry but had to scramble back when shots started flying. I even saw one guy try to throw in tear gas, but the grenade bounced back out, gassing themselves. The tactics they've been using are pretty fail. This is currently on every single news network in the Philippines, CNN and BBC. It's making me feel embarrassed to be Filipino. [editline]08:51PM[/editline] Looks like it's over, there's a dead body hanging outside the door of the bus, which, I'm assuming, is the hostage taker. There were some hostages left alive and the bus driver is a retard. There was no police cordon set up, nor crowd control so civilians are massing around the bus to take a look, halting the ambulance that needs to get closer.
