I don't get it.. I was expecting to see DayZ or something.
Oh lord.
Looks ridiculous to anyone watching, but I kind of want to try it out.
Combine this with the Oculus Rift and YEI's body tracking and we got ourselves a pretty promising VR system.
Dear Esther needs support for this NOW. EDIT: I'm kidding, you dumbasses.
RV stuff is retarded exept for Trackir or Oculus Rift if you are flying or driving vehicles.
Is it just me thinking this, or would it be really disorientating to utilize a vr simulator like this for anything other than first person games? Not that this is a criticism so much as a thought. I am imagining playing like, a top-down game or something, and watching from a bird's eye view my own movements that I make instead of from my eyes, and jesus christ that must induce vertigo
ok, so its an ice/wet floor/rollerblade sliding simulator?
Actually seems cool. If only you didn't look like a dumbass using it.

[editline]4:08[/editline] Imagine using motion capture with this in an online game and just watching all the other players scootch around
At first I thought it was pointless, then I saw that you can turn and now I want one.
people just keep on coming up with ideas to make yourself look like an idiot in front of your tv.
Dear Esther needs support for this NOW.
dear esther is a pretty atmospheric game but out of all the games you pick that need VR technology... you pick dear esther
dear esther is a pretty atmospheric game but out of all the games you pick that need VR technology... you pick dear esther
Amnesia/Penumbra would be fucking AAAAAAAAAAAa.
Amnesia/Penumbra would be fucking AAAAAAAAAAAa.
You'd probably run right off the dish in terror and crash into something.
Michael jackson's moon walking simulator edit: also this will be problematic with the body tracking system because it will track you doing moonwalking. You also cannot go prone, or do other acrobatic fun things that one could do in virtual space. I also get the feeling that it's easy as fuck to trip and faceplant
Walk Walk Revolution
not enough dubstep 0/10 WOULD NOT BUY
I'll be honest this looks pretty dangerous to me. Moving like that just looks like a recipe for falling over and cracking skulls

That could be used to make a awesome Star Wars game actually and not the pathetic abomination that is Star Wars Kinect. Could be a good workout too from all the moving. :v:
Hey folks, I know it isn't popular to post a link as your first forum post, but I'm pretty sure this is relevant! I interviewed the creator of the WizDish just a few days ago. He says, "The WizDish exploits the fact that you have 29 bones in each foot to balance with. You slide your feet over a slick concave surface in a simulation of walking that gives surprisingly similar proprioceptive cues to real walking. Once you can see where you are going [using an HMD] you take more confident strides and quickly forget it’s a simulated walk. The key advantages of the WizDish are that you can start, stop and turn with absolute ease…" The full interview here: http://www.roadtovr.com/2012/10/10/wizdish-virtual-reality-locomotion-device-1526
That walking motion looks so unnatural. Its not walking as much as it is sliding your feet back and forth.
That walking motion looks so unnatural. Its not walking as much as it is sliding your feet back and forth.
Imagine when you want to sprint in fps's.
I'll be honest this looks pretty dangerous to me. Moving like that just looks like a recipe for falling over and cracking skulls
Wear a helmet! I wish I had money...
Ah, don't you just want to get in there and mmm.... walk.
Imagine when you want to sprint in fps's.
speed up video 1.5 or 2 times and you will get the idea how it would look like.
I'll take 20
Wizdish sounds like a bedpan.
