Yes. This will surely work.
To stop the thing ruining our oceans, lets get rid of it by destroying the world!
Burn down a house to kill a flea.
Quick the pipes in my apartment have burst! Let's blow up my apartment building to stop the flow.
This seems reasoned and well thought out. I'm in.
At first I was skeptical, but now that I understand how they would approach it I think it's a good idea.
This most likely will not end well.
Idiots need just just drop their shit and let competent companies fix it then the company removed "Questions" abot radiation? "Questions" about damaged ecosystems? Go rot in a hole and die you political gay boy
The best solution is to just blow it up? We're fucked.
ITT people who didn't watch or pay attention to the video.
ITT people who didn't watch or pay attention to the video.
Neither have you.
Pros: Might stop the leak. Cons: ITS A FUCKING NUKE. Radiation. I think that is a bad idea, but might be the last resort plan.
Neither have you.
What do you mean by that? I did watch the video. they interviewed some guy who saw 9 nuclear explosions and did tests to see how they could be used peacefully. Also the Russians nuked some oil and gas leaks before and it worked. The government guy said it was out of the question and they don't know if it would work if it was that deep. Now please shut up unless you have something useful or truthful to say.
let's solve an environmental crisis by making another one, only with radiation
Now please shut up unless you have something useful or truthful to say.
Have you listen to the potential disruptions it may cause? I personally agree with some of the concerns that were mentioned
Didn't the Russians do this and it turned out fine? I'm in
Have you listen to the potential disruptions it may cause? I personally agree with some of the concerns that were mentioned
Yes, I "listen" to the disruptions it would cause and that's why I think it's a stupid idea. I agree that we shouldn't "nuke the well", but many of the posts in this thread indicated that the poster did not watch the video at all.

or blow a bigger hole for more oil
let's solve an environmental crisis by making another one, only with radiation
We've done plenty of underwater nuclear tests and they've had no effect on anything and this one is underwater AND underground, and would be presumably using an efficient modern weapon
Water absorbs fallout, heat glasses over hole (which is probably several meters wide), a mile deep so nobody feels a thing...why the fuck not? So long as humans are unable to get their hands an entire mile underwater to fix the thing, we've got very few options for an immediate fix. And we're at no risk of running out of warheads anytime soon.
Bummer [editline]01:53AM[/editline] I mean it's not like that isn't going to help anything or piss off the Bomb in Tybee
Didn't the Russians do this and it turned out fine? I'm in
you make it sound like soviet policies are somehow more safe and human friendly than other peoples. Which is kind of weird
you make it sound like soviet policies are somehow more safe and human friendly than other peoples. Which is kind of weird
So far ours have consisted of throw garbage at it and put a cap on it At least this one worked
SAVE THE FISH!!! *Nuclear fallout*
save the fish!!! *nuclear fallout*
nuke gay fish for jesus
Pros: Probably the only thing capable of counter-acting the immense pressure. Cons: Fucking nuke, earthquakes, etc. I'd say go for it, though. What else has worked? Nothing.
have they even been cleaning the shit up
