Hello.
Are you familiar with this type of scenario?
Your internet gets cut off for say, 2 weeks. Assuming you didn't kill yourself, in the course of said 2 weeks, you bought "SUPER MONSTER SLAYER THE GAME", for the Playstation 3 that you bought as well.
You love this game. It kept you company while you were without your precious internet for those two weeks.
Your internet comes back, Oh joy! You log in to Facepunch, wanting to taste the wonders you've missed. You go to Games Discussion, and WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS? There is a megathread on your beloved game, it has dumbs x1000, and every post (except for the OP) bashes the game for how bad it is. You are confused, you love facepunch, but you love this game. Do you take a side?
You shrug this off, and continue browsing Games Discussion, where you come across a 360 megathread. The OP has many hearts, the 3rd post bashes the PS3, and the fifth post has that "PS3 has no game!" pic. You are utterly confused. "How can this be? The PS3 DOES have game.". You remember that SMSTG that you enjoyed so much...but wait...that game is dumb according to fp.
Suddenly, you begin laughing hysterically at that pic, and you rate it AGREE. No big deal, it seems. You can take a joke about your beloved console.
During the next coming weeks, you sold your PS3, and dissed it in front of many fanboys.
Because someone didn't like something you did like, you stopped liking it, almost subconsciously.
Or how about this one?
A month later, you have no internet again, and you sleep for a few days. You come to school, and everyone is talking about Just in Castor, that awesome new band. Everyone likes it, and you're like "What is this?". One of your friends kindly lends you his iPod for you to hear this orgasmic piece of information that will be sent through your ears into your brain.
The song begins, and you can see everyone dancing around with their own iPod's, they have Just in Castor shirts, and someone is running around because he preordered tickets for their concert, everyone envy's him.
The song ends, and you were kinda tapping your foot because it felt right, but when your friend asks you "Well? Do you like them?" you simply reply "Nah, they suck."
Months later, nobody even remembers their name anymore, and you just started downloading their discography, because they suddenly are kinda cool.
Yeah! fuck bandwagons! :bandwagon:
I like what i like, basing your preferences on others preferences is just stupid.
I guess its a combination of weak character and desire to fit in that makes people hop on the bandwagon.
Bandwagons are a way to fit in
I'm pretty sure it's called conformity.
a lot of people have hard times thinking for themselves
This is an annoying thing, but no matter what you do, what threads you make, nothing will change. Humans will be humans.
well if your going to sel your ps3 because fp said so then your being orderd by a whole new level of peer pressure
Blaming people of bandwagoning is also a form of bandwagon itself!
Person A: "I don't like Halo because it's Blahblahblah"
Person B: "Oh, just get off the Halo Sucks Bandwagon already! It's a good game!"
Replace Halo with anything in the world that you want, and replace game with whatever that object is. And there you go! Instant come-back template.
It's call the ying and the yang. For every positive, there is a negative.
Enough of the philosophical nonsense, but there is strangely some relevancy in it. I tend to see people begin hating something that is liked by many. And when people shout louder about how they love something, the opposition shouts a bit louder too.
if there were not as many twilight lovers then there wouldnt be any twilight haters
If you have something and love it, but FP says it sucks and you sell it because of that, you need to set your mind straight.

Bandwagon bandwagon is the worst type of bandwagon.
Someone gets an opinion, someone supports that opinion, and someone else comes up and agrees, eventually enough people share the opinion that others pick the opinion up, even if they don't truly support it, because if they don't then they'll be bashed and flamed.
You have to find a place that shares your opinion. I know Halo's already been mentioned a few times in the thread, but an example: Go to the Halo thread, and most everyone there enjoys it. Go anywhere else in Facepunch, and people bash Halo like nobody's business.
It's quite stupid, really.
i like when im called a band wagoner for having an opinion formed on call of duty mw2 for ~5 days of multiplayer.
the anti-bandwagon
hating something because a lot of people like it.
I thought that was chronic hipsterism?
You know what kind of bandwagoning gets to me? People who like their own facebook status. I mean of course you like it, you fuckin posted it.
I think you guys are all jumping the bandwagon with all this bandwagon hate.
thread needs more :bandwagon:

bandwagon bandwagon bandwagon isn't much better.
I don't like bandwagon anti bandwagon, like in case 2, where by not conforming they are conforming.
Im just gonna hop on the :bandwagon: and say :bandwagon: ing is bad.
Yeah! fuck bandwagons! :bandwagon:
Yeah... Seems OP didn't think this thread the whole way through.
