The head of the Chicago Police Department has been fired amid widespread criticism over how authorities responded to the fatal shooting of a black teenager by a white police officer last year.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D) said he formally asked Garry F. McCarthy, the Chicago police superintendent, for his resignation on Tuesday morning, a week after video footage of the shooting was released and the officer was charged with murder.
“He has become an issue, rather than dealing with the issue, and a distraction,” Emanuel said. He added that while he is loyal to McCarthy, whom he praised for his leadership of the department, the needs of the city are more important.
It's time to bend over and take it up the ass police department, or the mayor will be blamed for sure
Good. They literally tried to cover up a murder. Everybody involved in that fucking abomination of justice should be fired, if not personally charged as accessories.
the articles ive read go into length about his career, but what about those police blacksites that were all the rage a few months ago, those had to be also operated under his watch, and those places were not legal at all, he should have been fired when the media blew up over those, not over one trigger happy officer

The blacksite story was a bunch of bullshit. The place they claimed is a blacksite is the place you go to collect stolen belongings and is completely open to the public.
Only thing I know is because of this bullshit, BRM came to my city and tried to stop traffic in the Loop in various ways. They all got chased off but still.

Same can be said about you Mayor Emanuel.
Most of Chicago's politicians are corrupt, hell most of the politicians in Illinois are corrupt. This state sucks ass.
Everything in Chicago is corrupt as fuck you're not gonna get any real change out of this.
