I like this one so far. Very creative on the locations. Can't wait to see what the other entries are. For some reason there are only 4 entries, and all of them are terrible. Or at least in a way my queue was arranged.

Wonderful direction but I think the funniest part is the running animation [editline]11th November 2016[/editline]
I think the Saxxy's have petered out in popularity over the years considering the prevalence of SFMs on a daily basis.
Remember when the Saxxy's were about TF2 replays?
I think the Saxxy's have petered out in popularity over the years considering the prevalence of SFMs on a daily basis.
That could be. Warning, two of them ARE screamers. I mean why? Then again I'm participating in a community collab. No huge reward, but enough to get some recognition.
I thought for a moment there were 3 devices and the Scout used one himself to make a shitton of his temporal clones across the timeline, but nope apparently there's just two and the Scout's a Spy. Would be a nice touch either way.
Problem with Saxxys is that it's centered around TF2 and that game is slowly dying.
Third most played game on steam is far from dying
Problem with Saxxys is that it's centered around TF2 and that game is slowly dying.
Not dying, but really overused at times in a ton of SFM videos imo. The reason TF2 is so overused is because the rigs are easy to manipulate, while only a few of the 3rd party models ever use the Valve biped and people forget to make any changes to make those without valve bone names easy to use(I'm guilty that my models still use Unreal Engine bone rigs which can be messy).
Would like to see some diversity in the saxxys tbh. Getting tired of seeing only TF2 videos every year.
yeah, definitely should become a tf2 and include non-tf2 games
All Valve IPs are open game, but as the Saxxys originated from TF2, it's really only the TF2 audience that hears about it, and the reward is based on TF2--we get mostly TF2. The Dota film contest attracted a lot more talent with monetary rewards. If there was a contest with unique CS:GO item or monetary rewards, we'd see a lot more of those as well.
The problem with the saxxy awards is if you aren't some popular youtuber already, have fun trying to get votes.

Nice work there, I'd enter the saxxies if I could fix the maya to source and map texture/lighting issues I'm plagued with.
animations were a bit sloppy
Yeah, especially the walkcycles
Creative set designs, though.
animations were a bit sloppy
Animation is very hard to master, especially in SFM's laggy graph editor with that horrible switching IK/FK rigs which feels like it's going to crash the thing.

If the engineer returned the intelligence before it was stolen, then where's the intelligence before it was stolen? It looks like a plausible loop but it really isn't. If the intelligence was stolen after it was returned, then when was it stolen before? This intelligence just appears out of nowhere, like into existence from nothing. It would have been better if the Engineer failed and just stopped the spy when he stole the intelligence. But I have to say the animation is pretty good. I enjoyed it.

is this finished? (edit: silly question, now that i think about it) because those animations are very very janky
Valve should encourage giving rewards on different games. Lets say that if you make a Dota 2 SFM entry, you win a special item (I.e, a courier or a weapon for a Hero). If you make a CSGO SFM you win a golden knife, hell, even the Saxxy Statue itself as a knife could work.

Cash was awarded to both winners and nominees. CSGO pales in comparison to the lore and characters from TF2. Most creations would probably fall under action or comedy. Which, admittedly, I'd be open to seeing more of. Perhaps it's time we did see CSGO get some attention in the film area. In-game rewards for Portal, HL2, L4D, and whatever else won't be very enticing, so the rewards would have to be monetary if we wanted more of those.
I'm aware of the Dota 2 separate contest (I even made an entry) And even there, they're all limited to 1 minute, and no categories, unlike the Saxxies.
