You can say what you want but the Crysis games have earned their golden spot in all gaming history
You can say what you want but the Crysis games have earned their golden spot in all gaming history
Anyone who says they're bad games are bandwagoning idiots. I remember back in like 2008~ when people were talking complete shit about how its so generic and boring, but...well, they never were able to actually give reasons for that claim. [editline]9th August 2012[/editline] Now Crysis 2 and 3 are different altogether, but Crysis is definitely a great unique game.
You can say what you want but the Crysis games have earned their golden spot in all gaming history
crysis 1 sure the rest nah
crysis 1 sure the rest nah
I think he meant in terms of graphics. Surely no other engine can compare to this, right now.
I think he meant in terms of graphics. Surely no other engine can compare to this, right now.
UE4
UE4
True.. That makes it a tough call.
Even the UE3 engine is freakin amazing
UE4
We haven't seen much of that engine though.
I thought it was a joke, then when I actually saw it I thought it was quite funny. I wish they turned it into a CryToad with a suit and super strength and stuff.
UE4
Right now, no. UE4 still is simply announced I believe. Even then, CryEngine 2-3 were out much sooner than UE4. I'd say they still have a place in game history.
crysis 1 sure the rest nah
Crysis 2 wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be, I mean I had a lot of fun playing it but it obviously wasn't the near masterpiece Crysis 1 was.
I think he meant in terms of graphics. Surely no other engine can compare to this, right now.
Too bad there aren't many games running it because of the outrageous licensing costs. Unreal Engine 3 and 4 are still on top in my opinion. It helps your reputation and market exposure when games from other devs are are actually released on your engine.
Oh look, it's that time again where I have to buy a new computer. Joy.
one of the only company pushing the limits.
Crysis 2 wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be, I mean I had a lot of fun playing it but it obviously wasn't the near masterpiece Crysis 1 was.
It was Crysis 2's storyline that I really disliked other than that the game is pretty damn good.
When I read "Toad Tech" I thought it would be this:
Plus future games from Crytek are going to be free to play!
It was Crysis 2's storyline that I really disliked other than that the game is pretty damn good.
As it's own game, maybe you could consider it ok. As a Crysis game it was a major step backwards in every way and totally sucked.
Guys, guys, It looks amazing, and the tech s definetley impressive, sure... ...but, will the games be any fun? Let's keep things into perspective. I'll wait until I see a well developed game using this tech before I make any judgements.
Holy shit, this is really starting to get close to the other side of the uncanny valley. The only things that really struck me as being "off" were the exaggerated lighting effects and particles.
Holy shit, this is really starting to get close to the other side of the uncanny valley. The only things that really struck me as being "off" were the exaggerated lighting effects and particles.
Yeah, that's another thing I have to nitpick on. A lot of times you hear about engines trying to be super photo-realistic, but let's be honest, nothing ever looks THAT good. What they're actually going for is a sort of "Hollywood-ized" reality. Which isn't a bad thing, I just wish they'd admit it's a sort of hyper-reality rather then "Photorealism". The only engine I've seen so far that really gives a sense of photorealisim is the Source Engine. It doesn't overdo it with the special effects and simply tries to create a realistic version of the world that isn't super-shiny and overly colorful. The real world is a bit more desaturated and isn't nearly as reflective as most engines make it out to be.
.
Someone please make a Photography sim for this, with Canon, Hasselblad & Nikon, etc bodies and hundreds of interchangeable lenses. When you take a pic, it buffers a single frame and renders it slowly over however-many-frames at insane resolution.
At 1:02 it says Free to Play, did i miss something?
At 1:02 it says Free to Play, did i miss something?
Crytek said they are moving to a free to play model after crysis 3.
At 1:02 it says Free to Play, did i miss something?
warface
Crytek said they are moving to a free to play model after crysis 3.
I'm so sick of F2P games. They end up being more expensive than just paying $60 up front. And it's EA so you know it will be P2W or a huge ripoff.
oh look someone blindly hating a publisher for a devs decision
This looks amazing. Thing is if we want to actually see games looking this good cryteck will have to get better at selling their engine because very few games use it.
Really didn't expect the frog, even from the title :v:
