Two of the top French Soul Calibur players go head-to-head with two of the new characters for SCV: Guest character Ezio from Assasin's Creed, and Viola.
The game's looking pretty awesome.

darth vader and yoda, now this?
pretty cool
apparently bayonetta was considered to be in the game
it's a shame they decided against it/couldn't work something out

Wasn't part of Bayonnetta's Design that she's supposed to have exaggeratedly elongated body? All of the Soul Calibur characters share the same rig, they always have since day one-Her body proportions wouldn't have been able to fit into the SC skeleton. Even Yoda was given the same skeleton-it was just shrunk down.
Oh fucking come on.
All I'll see on online is asians playing viola and totally kicking my ass now. This isn't fucking Blaz blue or guilty gear. Why the fuck do the characters get ranged attacks and shit?
Wheres does guns and arrows come up in 'a tale of swords and souls'?
Why does Ezio sound nothing like Ezio?
And why did they change the awesome narrator from the earlier games?
I fucking loved his voice.

"The game might change a lot before it's official release"
His winning animation should be the same as when he kills someone important in the games.

Pretty sure that's one of his grapples/finishers
Viola reminds me of Rose from StreetFighter, seeing as though they both have floating soul orb thingys.
Requescat in Pace.

Cervantes has a pistol attack and teleports. Nightmare can shoot orbs. Ivy in a sense could extend her sword and range grapple.
It isn't something new. Ontop of that their easy to dodge when the SC is 3d and not locked to a linear plane of combat. Side step that shit all day
'Time for revenge'
*bang*
AUGH

Guns have been present in the Soul Calibur universe. The series takes place in the 16th century, when rifles were starting to become more widely used. If you look at Mitsurugi, you can see he's got a gunshot would in his shoulder.
One of Cervantes' swords has a pistol in it.
Also, going back a bit, Link had arrows in SC2, and they had crazy range.
The Star Wars characters had their own "Force Lighting" attacks that would go pretty darn far as well.
Algol in SC4 could shoot energy bubbles from cannons on his arms.
So you see, long range weapons have always been present in the series, so it's not entirely out of place for these characters to have them.
