A Grade 12 student will undergo a psychiatric assessment for threatening to shoot up his high school because a girl didn't want to sit with him on the bus. Kyle Savard, 19, sent her texts saying he was going to carry out the shooting at West Ferris Secondary School and it would be her fault because she didn't stop it. “You better stay the f**k away from your school next week because I'm going over there, and they're not going to get the blood out,” said one of his texts read in court by Crown attorney Sheila Seguin. Savard caught the school bus from Bonfield to North Bay, and he would become verbally abusive when the girl wouldn't talk to him. “Someone you love is going to die,” said another of his texts to her. He sent multiple texts in the days before Feb. 14, promising the worst Valentine's Day in human history by carrying out shootings at West Ferris and St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Catholic Secondary School, Seguin said. She said Savard's “bizarre behaviour” continued until Feb. 10 when North Bay Police Service arrested him at West Ferris. He was transferred to North Bay Regional Health Centre to assess his mental health. The small-framed teen remains out of custody and was scheduled to be sentenced when he pleaded guilty Tuesday to making the threats. Ontario Court Justice Jean-Gilles Lebel ordered a psychiatric assessment after learning about the facts behind the threats, saying they're taken seriously in light of what has happened in other communities. Most recently, a 15-year-old boy was arrested in Baltimore, Md., following a shooting at his high school on the first day of school. A 17-year-old student with Down syndrome was injured when he was shot in the back. In Canada, one student was killed and 19 people were injured during a shooting at Dawson College before the gunman killed himself near the start of the school year in 2006. A high school dropout returned to class in April 1999 and killed one student and injured another in Taber, Alta., days after two students killed 13 people and then themselves at Columbine High School in Colorado. One of Canada's worst mass shootings happened at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal when a lone gunman killed 14 women in 1986 before turning the gun on himself. Court heard Savard's texts described his hate for his parents and school. Savard is attending counselling and co-operated with police during the arrest, admitting he only wanted to make the girl feel bad and had no intention of carrying out his threat, said defence counsel Frank Falconi. Savard is expected to be sentenced Nov. 6 to await the results of his psychiatric assessment.
Sheesh. I didn't go to that high school, but one on the other side of town. However there seems to be this recurring theme of kids who come in from smaller towns to be kind of crazy. Must be love <3
Overreacting? Naaaaaaaaaaaah
What a nut. Hormones and psychological problems at their finest.
He's not getting that girl now
Mother of god. And I thought I had issues! This kid is a total psycho.
"Hey babe, I threatened to shoot up the entire school so I could sit right next to you." Yeah, I can't see her still having any interest in him.
What a nutter.
What a fucking loonie
This boy was crazy in love.
Ultra butthurt right there.
Well he definitely doesn't have a shot at her now
they released his name? that's pretty harsh, he'll probably be ruined for life
they released his name? that's pretty harsh, he'll probably be ruined for life
He threatened a fucking school shooting, I will shed no tears for him
There's a kid like this in my school. I was just casually talking to a female friend of mine and he said he would cut my head off and bury it in his yard. It didn't help that he was a foot shorter than me, entirely devoid of muscles, and had the voice of a squirrel on helium. Once out of earshot, she called him a pain in the ass.

Yes it's dumb, but god I don't think I'd be able to help myself with such gold right in front of me.
He threatened a fucking school shooting, I will shed no tears for him
He's a teen with underlying psychological issues, that combined with puberty could very much lead to this. He should still be punished, but if a shizophrenic threatened to blow up a building, he wouldn't get the full punishment.

This is stuff you'd expect from an /r9k/ greentext story

They just get treatment and only let out when it is safe to do so.
I bet he's into the gore and the offensive jokes that DO go a bit too far that get posted on his Facebook wall.
He's not getting that girl now
Or any girl in that matter.
When I went to grade school, I somehow ended up being that kid who everyone thought would do something like this. I'm really not sure how this came to be, but it was actually pretty funny. I thought about coming in wearing a really big trenchcoat while holding a trumpet or some shit underneath. They think I'm about to shoot up the school, then BAM! Music!
probably a fper
I'm going to take a guess and say he's one of those silent anti-social kids where his only words are on screens. You can't sit around and wait for a girl to make all the moves, or else she'll just think you're not interested in her.
"i dont know what a false dichotomy is"
so you call me out on an apparent logical fallacy, while using a logical fallacy yourself? please. you're either at fault or you're not, depending on your concept of free will. if you're not at fault, then punishment is not a viable option. it's as simple as that
