• Shapeways: Custom 3d printed stuff
    6 replies, posted
I just found this site called Shapeways which allows you to submit your 3D models and get a custom printed version of it. It is currently in an open beta, but still pretty neat. It has a bunch of different printing and casting options, from plastics to metals. Unfortunately based on size and materials, things can get REALLY expensive very fast, as in upward of a few hundred dollars. There are some pretty neat things some people have made. I already made a money clip with card holder and a miniature long backboard keychain (medical version, not basketball). As for product durability, I can't really vouch for any particular type since I have yet to order anything due to lack of funds. I hear some of the stuff is quite flexible and durable enough to be used as a phone case, which is a pretty good indicator. Anyways, without further ado, here's the link: http://www.shapeways.com/
Few hundred isn't a lot really.
Really, really depends on what sort of income you got, and whether it's stable or not.
Well usually if you can create stuff worth printing, you get enough money.
