Hey guys, Look at this video to undersand how much time would it take you to hack a password, or how secure is your own password! Try here
Pretty much everyone on here knows about this website.
Pepper;44721811']Pretty much everyone on here knows about this website.
Oh...prolly I should delete the Topic, I guess. You're right it's kinda obvious website tho :D
I depends on a lot of different variables on how long it takes to crack a password...
it would take 37 years to crack my pass.
Meh, it's all about *ur hax0r skeel. *- Your hacking skill.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/jedy4OA.png[/t] Turns out my name repeated twice is not a secure password.
The password was "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
Go me!
That's impossible.
I still think it'd be funny if this site logged your IP and your tested password and used that to get into your shit.
I still think it'd be funny if this site logged your IP and your tested password and used that to get into your shit.
If you use your real password to test you're an idiot anyway.
Don't trust that website its dumb.
I don't get how it calculates this. If I type in a bunch of letters, it says there are 26 character combinations, but if it's a brute force hack surely it's going to include numbers, uppercase letters and symbols in guessing passwords from the start, which would make it a lot slower going?
"fuckoffdavidcameron" would take 6 billion years, cool!
A lot of my passwords would take upwards of ~1000-1 billion years. I sure hope that my account assailant's descendants are interested enough in cracking my passwords on say, Steam, to play my millenia old video games.
I still think it'd be funny if this site logged your IP and your tested password and used that to get into your shit.
I can assure you I have nothing to do with the website. The credits goes to Small Hadron Collider, wich clearly say they will not tansfer the password thorugh internet. I understand, I doubted the website too.

6 septillion years
So it takes 22 minutes to crack facepunch? [editline]5th May 2014[/editline] And 52 seconds to crack gabens password.
its nice to know my email password would take 48 thousand years to crack :P
I always like to think that these sites store userinput and build dictionaries from it. You're all fucked :v: Also, dictionary attacks have become a lot more intelligent than what the site shows.
"fuckoffdavidcameron" would take 6 billion years, cool!
This isn't true with the latest dictionary attacks. They just bind words and common names together to try things. Look at this site: http://lifehacker.com/5937303/your-clever-password-tricks-arent-protecting-you-from-todays-hackers
My passwords are already incomprehensible gibberish that I can remember thanks to the power of acronyms and random symbols that are never used twice across accounts! I'll make an example of what my passwords look like: [[Y/@mT$sFa/!~=M@X
Best password ever is 'FuckADonkeyInTheAss1' like 5 Quintillion years, easy to remember.
i've just moved to using keepassx and letting it generate complex passwords since heartbleed (had to change my passwords cause they were shit)
If you are not using a password manager like KeePass, you really should start using one. Why? * Logging into websites is really easy. Instead of typing my username and password, I simply use the shortcut key (eg. Ctrl+Shift+0) and the password manager inputs the username and password automatically and logs me in. * The password manager generates a strong random password for every site you use. This means that even if your password is compromised, it won't have nearly as much of a effect if you would have used the same password for multiple sites. * You only need to remember one password which allows you to use the password manager. I started using KeePass shortly after the Heartbleed exploit was announced and it has actually made things easier than they were before, at least for me.
